Both of my sons have played Soccer since they were little. Although, they love the sport, there is one thing that gets in the way of all the outside fun. In our family, some of us have skin sensitivity (some more than others) and sweating aggravates it to the extend that we have to move indoors to cool down to let the itchiness subside. If itching from sweating wasn’t bad enough, don’t get me started when the weather changes.
Whether is Summer, Winter or any other season in between, it is no easy task to keep pollen and dust from sticking to their clothes or temperature changes from making their skin dry and flaky. This is why, when the boys were younger, we decided to consult with a skin specialist to try to understand and to remedy this situation. We were advised to keep their skin extra moisturized and to wash their clothes, towels and bedding with a no dye, no fragrance laundry soap.
Three Tips For Dealing With Sensitive Skin
Skin sensitivity can be frustrating to deal with it, even if you only deal with it a few times a year, the good news is that with proper treatment the symptoms can be controlled. Today, I want to share with you some of the tips that have helped our family deal with skin sensitivity.
Three Tips For Dealing With Sensitive Skin:
Avoid skin irritants, such as fragrance, household cleaners, soaps, laundry detergents can aggravate skin sensitivity, therefore, you should wash your clothes, towels, bed sheets with a laundry soaps that is 100% hypoallergenic, like all free clear. Did you know that all free clear is 100% hypoallergenic? Yes, it sure is! all free clear is the #1 recommended detergent brand by Dermatologists, Allergists, and Pediatricians for sensitive skin..
Another way to help with skin sensitivity is to keep your skin moisturized. Choose a non-fragrance lotions to avoid irritating the skin. Apply moisturizer after bathing or washing hands and drink plenty of water throughout the day.
Finally, maintain a well-balance diet, reduce stress, and avoid overheating (specially during the summer and winter months) to help minimize skin sensitivity. Be aware of foods that might trigger an outbreak or aggravate a flare-up.
