10 Things You Have to Know About Disneyland’s Pixar Fest
This week we got to visit Disneyland and experience Pixar Fest for ourselves. Pixar Fest is the newest addition to Disneyland and Disney California Adventures parks happening now through September 3, 2018. Pixar Fest celebrates Disney-Pixar timeless films and beloved characters! If you are thinking of making your way to Disneyland this summer, we have put together 10 things you have to know about Disneyland’s Pixar Fest.
Pixar Play Parade
So, let’s get things started with Pixar Play Parade. If you have been to Disney California Adventure park, you might be familiar with this daytime parade. However, Pixar Play Parade is now at Disneyland Park and it is lead by Pixar Lamp and Ball from Pixar’s original short, “Luxo Jr.”
Pixar Play Parade Fun Fact #1: The Pixar Lamp is 14 feet tall and the Pixar Ball is nearly four feet wide.
If you cannot wait for June 15’s Incredibles 2 release, you can catch a glimpse of Mr. Incredible, ElasticGirl, Violet, Frozoneand, and even baby Jack-Jack. Speaking of baby Jack-Jack, be on the lookout for him as he sits in one of the claws of the Omnidroid. Yes, like the one on The Incredibles film.
Another new element to the Pixar Play Parade is the addition of “Inside Out” which features Joy, Sadness and Bing Bong in Riley’s “Rocket” Wagon.
Pixar Play Parade Fun Fact #2: Nearly 280 memory orbs of all different emotions appear at the base of Riley’Rocket Wagon.
We just love Nemo, Marlin, and Dory, but who doesn’t love Squirt? So, keep your eyes peeled for the Finding Nemo and Friends float this float features baby turtles, jellyfish, and a lot of sea life. You will be totally immersed in this aquatic underwater world.
Hey, don’t blink and keep an eye out the UP float which features Kevin, Russell, Carl Fredricksen, Dug and even Carl’s house and the balloons!
Pixar Play Parade Fun Fact #3: Kevin stands nearly 12 feet tall from her toes to the top of her feathers.
Be sure to stay alert for the tiny biggest starts out there! The Bugs Life Float is ahead of the Toy Story float and it is one of the biggest floats in the parade. Speaking of Toy Story, no ending will be completed without Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, Rex and the Toy Story gang, right?
The Toy Story float has the complete gang plus a group of flipping, flying, downright gravity-defying acrobats who’ll take your breath away! The entire parade features over 120-plus performers, which will entertain you and dance along to two original songs.
Pixar Fest Themed Eats!
If riding the rides, experiencing the parades and spending time with family is only half the fun and the other is the delicious eats. Pixar Fest doesn’t disappoint, right now you can satisfy any size Monsters appetite with fun themed food and beverages inspired by popular Pixar hits. Below you can see some of the treats we got to try at Alien Pizza during our recent visit to Disneyland park.
As shown above by the chefs at Alien Pizza Planet, here you can find a delicious Cheeseburger Pizza, which is a Pizza topped with ketchup, yellow mustard and pizza sauce on a sesame-seed crust with American and cheddar cheeses, caramelized onions, diced tomatoes and a slider patty, finished with a house-made burger sauce and pickle. In my opinion, the perfect treat for the entire family.
For those of us that are all about the desserts, Pixar Fest has got you covered. During this fest, you can enjoy some delicious treats from frozen treats, parfaits, cold drinks in character cups, cake tops, cake, to a fast fest of amazingly delicious churros!
While you are at Alien Pizza Planet, you can enjoy Toy Story themed eats like alien macarons and alien parfait. After you are done with those treats, head on over to the Candy Place and get your hands on some yummy alien candy apples. These guys are not only adorable looking, they are super delicious also!
I don’t think that I can find the exact words to describe the Pixar Fest Celebration Cake. This cake is in one word, fantastic! Seriously, three different layer, each distinct in flavor yet all complimentary to one another. You can find the Pixar Fest Celebration Cake at Plaza Inn in Disneyland, Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta, Paradise Garden Grill, and Pacific Wharf Cafe in Disney California Adventure.
Enough about cakes and sweet alien-themed threats, we all know that going to the parks deserves a frozen delicious treat. That’s why you have to make way to adorable snowman frozen treats and try the Pixar Pier Frosty Parfait. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, this treat is a must-have while at Disneyland park. It is refreshing and perfectly delicious.

My family and I love fireworks shows and if your family is anything like mine, they will love Together Forever. This nighttime show opens with Buzz Lightyear, who flies 100 feet in the air above Sleeping Beauty Castle on a flight path that is 350 feet long. As Buzz Lightyear takes flight, you will hear him open the show with the line: “To friendship and beyond!”
Pixar Fest Together Forever Fun fact #6: The fireworks for “Together Forever” were specifically developed and designed to enhance the projected images within the show and to match Pixar Animations Studios’ color palette.
If you are wondering which is the best viewing area to fully experience this nighttime specular? The answer is easy. Each of the four viewing areas in the park: Main Street, U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle, Rivers of America, and “it’s a small world,” feature custom effects that create a unique experience for you at each location.
Pixar Fest Together Forever Fun fact #7: With the use of projection mapping, more than 300 Space Aliens from “Toy Story” appear on the façade of the buildings on Main Street, U.S.A., “it’s a small world” attraction, and Sleeping Beauty Castle during their moment in “Together Forever.”
Do you love Disney•Pixar Coco? My family loves that film so much! One bit of snip bit, during Together Forever, you can hear the voice of Anthony Gonzalez, who played the lead role of Miguel in Coco, singing “The World Es Mi Familia.”

Now, enough of me trying to describe this beautiful nighttime spectacular and enjoy the video we made while we enjoy Together Forever. And by the way, if you are wondering what has been the largest objects ever flown above Sleeping Beauty Castle in past or present nighttime spectaculars? The answer is the largest object ever flown is in “Together Forever” and it is Carl Fredricksen’s House from Disney•Pixar’s film, “Up.”

Everyone’s favorite family of superheroes is back in “Incredibles 2” – but this time Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is in the spotlight, leaving Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell) and Dash (voice of Huck Milner) to navigate the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life. It’s a tough transition for everyone, made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jack’s emerging superpowers. When a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot, the family and Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) must find a way to work together again—which is easier said than done, even when they’re all Incredible.
