Before the kids were born, I had a small sporty two-seater with a standard manual shifter car and I loved it! As the kids got older, our family car also got bigger and for a few years now, I have been driving a mid-size SUVs. I don’t know if it is me getting older, but in my opinion, when you start driving mid-size SUVs, it is hard not to like driving one on a daily basis. Of course, this doesn’t mean that I don’t enjoy riding the occasional sporty car. Recently, I had the amazing opportunity to drive the new 2016 Buick Enclave for a week.
2016 Buick Enclave: Modern Luxurious Mid-Size SUV.
If you happened to see the new 2016 Buick Enclave at the Miami International Auto, you might have noticed that the new Enclave can only be described as unique and luxurious SUV. In today’s more flashy standard SUVs, the Enclave chooses to retain its conservative roots, but don’t get me wrong, this amazing car won’t be left behind by the competition.
What does the 2016 Buick Enclave has to offer? The Premium trim model, we got to test drive included all the luxury premiums like heated steering wheel, Bose premium sound, heated and cooled front seats, articulating headlamps, power outside review mirrors (heated and power folding), and steering column (power tilt and telescopic).
How does the 2016 Buick Enclave handles on the road? The Enclave is designed for active families that need the space and capabilities large SUV offers and the Enclave surely delivers. Just as expected, the Enclave drive is smooth and quiet. But the best part for me is, that it doesn’t feel heavy or overly large on the road.
One of my favorite features in the Enclave are the heated and cooled front seat, perfect for the hot Miami weather. I love that each front seat has its own independent temperature control, so no fighting over been too cold or too hot with your co-pilot. My husband’s favorite feature is the heated steering wheel, he couldn’t get over that one. And if you are worried about size, the Enclave is as spacious as it looks it.
After the kids each found the perfect spot in the car, both my daughter and my middle son decided to ride in the Premium second-row captain’s chairs and my oldest son decided that he wanted to enjoy the peacefulness of the third-row bench seats. We still had plenty of space for going grocery shopping together.
The 2016 Buick Enclave has many features both inside and out that everyone would love. From its 5-star rating on frontal and side crash tests, and 4-star on rollover, its moonroof, its rear fixed-glass skylight, its standard rear power liftgate, and more.
Overall, the 2016 Buick Enclave is the perfect combination of luxury and old school. If there was something that I would improve for next year’s model it would be a fuel-efficient engine, the 2016 edition gives you 14mpg city and 20 mpg highway. I love how easy and familiar the control panel is, so I wouldn’t mess with perfection. Do you own an Enclave, if so what is your favorite feature on it?
