Let’s be honest here, laundry is everyone’s least favorite household chore. And with school now back in session, this task not only doubles, but for some of us, it even triples. If your household is anything like mine, you avoid doing laundry until is absolutely necessary to get it done. And then, doing laundry is only the beginning. The endless sessions of folding, pairing and putting away are just plain and simple exasperating. But, let’s look at the bright side of all of this. Today’s mommies have a huge advantage of our moms and grandmothers. Modern conveniences, such as, high-efficiency washers, driers and multi-purpose laundry detergents help us tackle laundry head on without much hassle. Yes, not all of us have access to laundry in our homes and some of us have to make the weekly track to the laundromat. This is why getting organized and following a few tips will help us keep up with the endless piles of laundry.
3 Simple Tips To Help You Manage Your Laundry All Year Long!
Tip #1 To Help You Manage Your Laundry All Year Long. My kids, the entire family for that matter, have learned that we don’t need to wash our clothing after every single use. For example, our towels, the kid’s pajamas, jeans and certain pants get washed after every couple of uses. So, this is my first simple tip. To make laundry duty manageable is by involving the entire family. Start by sort your laundry and thinking about the items that can be reused before discarding them as dirty. To ensure your clothes last longer and looking great along the way, sort your laundry by color, delicates, and socks in separate containers.
Tip #2 To Help You Manage Your Laundry All Year Long. Another, way to make laundry duty manageable is by organizing your laundry room. Keeping your laundry room organized and inviting makes laundry day a more welcoming. Keep your wrinkle reducers, laundry detergent, stain fighters and softeners handy and organized. I like to keep my laundry detergent paks at arm’s reach, but safely stored in its original packaging away from the little ones. Speaking of laundry detergent, nowadays laundry detergents help the task of getting laundry done easier. For example, ARM & HAMMER™ Plus OxiClean™ Stainfighters Power Paks Laundry Detergent combines the power of OxiClean™ Stain Fighters and ARM & HAMMER™ Baking Soda in a crystals form. This formula contains active stain fighting ingredients that tackle a variety of stains, including dirt, grass, blood and oil. And the best part is that you don’t need to measure how much soap you need. Just toss in the washer before adding clothing and the single use Pak dissolves quickly and goes to work, gently bubbling to provide deep cleaning and stain fighting power to leave your laundry with a great fresh scent. No mess, spills or bulky bottles. 🙂
Tip #3 To Help You Manage Your Laundry All Year Long. Now that laundry is washed, it is time to avoid wrinkles, fold and put away efficiently. For starters, avoiding wrinkles begins the moment your washing cycle ends. By separating your clothes before tossing them into the dryer. As soon as your dry’s buzzer goes off, remove shirts and pants and either hang or fold them. If your clothes are still a little wrinkled, put your wrinkle reducer to work right away to avoid set in wrinkles. This last step brings us to putting away all that laundry. In our family, everyone pitches in. If I fold and put away the kids clothes, the hubby folds and puts away our clothes. If your kids are old enough, get them involved. Begin by labeling the dresser drawers to make this task easy for them. Hang shirts and pants to make putting away a bit easier. Utilize mesh bags for washing and drying socks, this would make pairing and putting away socks easier. Finally, store your delicates in zip bags, this way you avoid getting them snagged in the drawers. I would love to hear from you. What are your best tips and tricks for managing laundry?
