Hello and Welcome to Cleverly Me!
I am Ana, a South-Florida Latina, a mom of three kids, and a wife! I was born in Nicaragua (located in Central America) and moved to Miami when I was a Tween. I have lived in the Miami area most of my life and have been happily married to my college sweetheart for almost 20 years!
Currently, I am a stay-at-home mom of two boys and one little girl, all under the age of 15, keep me on my toes all the time! I pride myself on being a budget-mindful mom, which allows us to pursue our many interests. As a mom, I am always trying to find ways to make our lives a little less hectic, because hey, there are only 24 hours in the day! 🙂 You can read more about the people who inspired me here.

Our family loves trying new things, from all the products we have tried, we have yet to find our most favorite product. Among the things we LOVE to do is trying & sample new foods. I am not a chef or want to be one, therefore, all the recipes found here come from the foods we like to eat. I try to cook simple & kid-friendly meals because one, I don’t like slaving in the kitchen and two, my kids must love what I serve them.
We consider ourselves to be avid travelers, we have traveled throughout most of the Caribbean and around our home state of Florida. A few years ago, we began traveling to Central America, you will find those and many other adventures here as well.
From the many destinations we have visited, there hasn’t been a destination we haven’t like yet, so the possibilities are nearly limitless. Currently, I have two travel dreams. One is to one day be able to drive across the USA and two, take the family and cruise through Europe.
Why I started CleverlyMe.com?
This website journey began in 2009, I found myself finishing my degree in Information Technology, while this field always intrigued me. My heart was with my two young children, whom I wanted to stay home with.
To balance my profession and my desired to be a stay-at-home parent, I decided to chronicle our savings adventures in this online outlet to help us keep ourselves accountable on our journey; however, along the way, this site turned into so much more!
Today, Cleverly Me (Formerly Miami Mommy Savings) evolved as our family grew and it is now a source for busy moms trying to balance their different passions, as well as, everyday life.

Hi, I just tried your Arroz con Leche (Nicaraguan style), disclaimer I’m neither how to cook or instant pot expert😉, my daughter just gifted me an instant pot so I tried your recipe there. I’m waiting for my mom for her opinion.
I added all the ingredients first and stir them and then add the rice. Instant pot porridge setting (20 minutes), allow 10 minutes for natural release (NPR), then release remaining pressure and open pot. (Instructions of another recipe).
By the way, I’m Nicaraguan, my Cuban husband loved it.
