How to achieve quick and easy pantry organization in a matter of hours!
Getting organized isn’t always easy, but a lot of times it is necessary to keep your household running smoothly. If you find yourself always fussing about your disorganized pantry, stop it and fix it! Here’s a great list of things you can do right now to get your pantry organized in just a couple of hours!
Get the family involved: You need help not only to get the pantry organized but to keep it organized. When you put a new organization system into place, you need to have the help and support of the other people in your home to make it happen properly. Get them involved from the start and you can teach them your new system as you go along, which means they will understand it better.
Out with the old: Get rid of old food and empty boxes, as well as unwanted items. After everything is cleaned out of the pantry, clean the pantry itself with soap and water. You want a fresh, clean slate to reorganize with. Do not put anything back in until you have completed the cleaning and organizing.
Set up a system that works: You should zone your pantry into a system that works for you. For example, all baking stuff that you rarely use should go to the top, out of the way. All canned goods go together, and all boxed items should go on another shelf. Set this all up outside of the pantry first, though, so that you can see what space you have and make sure your zones will work like you plan.
Use Storage Bins and Label Them: If you have boxes of cereals, don’t keep them in the boxes. Place them in stackable storage bins and label it properly. Make the bins clear, too, so that you can see when you’re running low on something. This saves you lots of space, but it also makes your cabinets look more uniform and put together. Put it in and bring it all to the front: When putting things back in, bring everything to the front. This will help you find things easier, but it also stops you from cramming too many things into the pantry. It also helps you see what you have and what you need to buy which can save time and money on meal planning.
Make a spreadsheet: To keep it organized from here on out (because even you may forget what all you’ve done), make a spreadsheet and label each zone. Also, make a list of items you normally buy in a grocery store trip so that you can reference it easily when you run out. This helps in meal planning and grocery-list making and ensures you never cram your pantry.
