I think it is safe to say that most of us grew up with Dave, Alvin, Theodore and Simon! Yes, I am talking about The Chipmunks and their trusty companion and friend, Dave. Of course, not only did we grew up watching the weekend TV shows, but we also grew up listening and dancing to their songs. For those of us that are enjoying the new movies and new TV series through our kiddos, now there is just one more way to dance and sing along with these three little friends from our childhood. Alvin and The Chipmunks: The Musical is a brand new, music-filled interactive live show featuring The Chipmunks, The Chipettes, Dave and even their arch-nemesis, Ian Hawke. More about the show below. Last night, my family and I had the amazing opportunity to be invited to see the show at their Miami stop and today, I want to share with you our review of the show.
About Alvin and The Chipmunks: The Musical
ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS: THE MUSICAL! is a brand new, music-filled interactive live show featuring the Chipmunks and Chipettes, America’s favorite animated music groups. Based on the characters from the hit Fox movies, the show will bring the music and excitement of a live rock concert to life as the Chipmunks perform hits by One Direction, Maroon 5, Carly Rae Jepsen, Elvis Presley and more!
The Chipmunks are tricked by former arch-nemesis Ian Hawke to perform at a fundraising concert to save a dairy farm in upstate New York that was once the site of the legendary Woodstock music festival. However, with Ian managing the concert, it all might not be what it seems. Join the whole crew as they wind up in hilarious situations on their way to Woodstock. From an “old school” breakdancing competition, to a no-holds-barred food fight, you’ll experience it all LIVE on stage!
Alvin and The Chipmunks: The Musical is indeed a music and dance-filled show, from the moment the show kicks off to the end, we couldn’t stop dancing, clapping and singing along to the many pop-hit songs that Alvin, Theodore, Simon, Brittany, Jeanette, and Eleanor from the Chipettes, performed. If I had to described this show using only one word, it would have to be ELECTRIC!
The Miami stop was held at the Arsht Center in Downtown and it was packed with kiddos of all ages and their parents. One of my favorite parts of this show is when The Chipmunks and Dave drive across country, which included stops at “Big Ole Opry” and Las Vegas. Because, as they drive through these different cities, my youngest son kept naming the states and their capitals. Another, special moment from the show was the burst of streamers and confetti showers that rained down into the audience, the kids were thrilled trying to catch the streamers and confetti in the air.
During intermission, we were treated to a sneak peek of the new Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip movie that will be in theaters on December 18! Hey, we cannot wait to see this movie. Check out more info about the movie, as well as, a preview of the movie below.
We loved the music, the interaction with characters, which by the way, one lucky audience member gets to join the Chipmunks on stage. You can see the little boy who was invited to joined them playing drums on my Vine video above. Overall, the musical is very well choreograph and the songs were lively and resonated very well with both the kiddos and us parents. In my opinion, the show is great entertainment for the entire family and perfect for all The Chipmunks fans. Have you seen the show yet? If you have don’t forget to drop us a note and let us know which was your favorite part!
Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip | Official Trailer
Through a series of misunderstandings, Alvin, Simon and Theodore come to believe that Dave is going to propose to his new girlfriend in Miami…and dump them. They have three days to get to him and stop the proposal, saving themselves not only from losing Dave but possibly from gaining a terrible stepbrother.
