Have you ever wanted to go on a safari adventure? My answer is YES, and after this past weekend’s #ZootopiaEvent adventures, I can say that I have been on a safari adventure. Not only did I get to interview the cast and directors of the movie Zootopia and screen the movie. But I got to stay at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge in a room with an amazing view! Keep reading to find out more about my experience staying at the Animal Kingdom Loge and why in my opinion is a wild experience for everyone!
Animal Kingdom Lodge: A Wild Experience for Everyone!
Animal Kingdom Lodge Lobby
The moment I stepped into the lobby at Animal Kingdom Lodge, I was greeted by a vast 6-story lobby area filled with African artifacts and with a view of the amazing savanna on the other side of the hotel. If you request a Savanna side room, you will have the opportunity to see 30 species of wildlife roaming in Animal Kingdom Lodge savanna. Perfect for ages 0-102! Sweeping view of the hotel’s savanna are not only visible from the lobby and rooms, but keep your eyes open and you might see some wildlife from the several large windows in the hallways and several outdoor patios and alcoves.

Animal Kingdom Lodge offers several different room choices to fit the needs of everyone. However, when possible I encourage you to request a Savanna view room so that you can take advantage of the wildlife that will be roaming around outside your balcony. The room that I stayed at was equipped with a queen size bed and a bunk bed, which would have comfortably slept 4 adults or a family of 4. The room had a TV, Coffee Maker, a small Refrigerator, breakfast table, small balcony table and an ample size bathroom. It was simply, perfect. But the best part was the view, oh and what a view!
Whether you are traveling alone or with the family, you have to eat! And Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge serves award-winning, African-inspired specialties and classic American favorites for breakfast, lunch and dinner at several different restaurants on their premises. For breakfast, I would suggest visiting Boma. Boma resembles a lively African marketplace, this restaurant features all-you-care-to-enjoy buffets at breakfast and dinner, perfect for family dining. I went for breakfast and oh, wow! The choices are incredible. I had the Mickey Mouse waffles, the omelette station is yum, truly what you expect at an all-American buffet.
For those days in which you want to hit the parks early in the morning, I would suggest ordering room service. On the morning I was checking out, I placed my order the night before and my warm and delicious breakfast was delivered to my door at the time I had specified. By the way, I had my breakfast on my balcony while I admiring the majestic giraffes.

After having stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge, I cannot wait to take my family there and enjoy the family recreations areas. Like the pools, Jambo House Campfire Activities, Hakuna Matata Playground, Pumbaa’s Fun and Games Arcade and Movies Under the Stars. If you decide to stay at any of the Walt Disney World hotels, you will have access to the Magical Express to and from the airport, Walt Disney World transportation system, and extra hours in the parks. I took advantage of the Magical Express transportation from the airport to the hotel and vice versa and everything was on queue.
