We are trying to prepare more meals at home instead of eating out, this way we can control portions and what we put into our bodies. However, after getting the kids to and from school and after driving them to all their extra curricular activities, the last thing you want to do is to get home and start defrosting supper. One thing I do to save money and time is to buy my meats and cheeses in bulk or when there is a great amazing sale. The hard part comes when preventing freezer burnt on your meats and/or already prepared meals, this is where the FoodSaver 4800 Series Vacuum Sealer comes into play. Throughout this summer I have been using the FoodSaver 4800 Series Vacuum Sealer to help keep my food fresher longer and now that school has started I need all the help I can get to reduce food waste and make meals easier to prepare.
The FoodSaver 4800 series vacuum sealer provides the functionality and convenience of two vacuum sealing appliances in one. The system works with heat seal bags and rolls for long term storage, and with its retractable accessory adapter performs with vacuum zipper bags, canisters and containers for short term storage! Compact, upscale, and fully automatic, this appliance features an easy-open drawer with patented removable drip tray for easy clean up.
The FoodSaver 4800 Series Vacuum Sealer’s heat seal bags and rolls are super easy to use and extremely versatile. Every month I purchase chicken and turkey to last us throughout the month but it is a hassle to separate them into individual servings. To minimize freezer burnt on my ground turkey, I usually store it in its original tray. However, this means that when I am ready to use it, I have to thaw the entire tray and re-freeze the unused turkey. I am always afraid that this process will make my meats unsafe with the FoodSaver 4800 Series Vacuum Sealer all I need to do is roll out enough bag, cut it, seal one end, place individual food portions inside the bags, the place the unopened end into the vacuum channel and let the FoodSaver vacuum the air and seal the bag.
However, the FoodSaver 4800 Series Vacuum Sealer is just for meats, oh no, the FoodSaver 4800 Series Vacuum Sealer does a great job at preserving food freshness for cheeses, veggies, and deli meats. The FoodSaver 4800 Series Vacuum Sealer also features a revolutionary zip tops bags which helps maintain food fresh in the fridge, all you need to do is place your marinating chicken in the bag and use the retractable handheld sealer to remove the air (which is the one that spoils your food). The FoodSaver 4800 Series Vacuum Sealer also features a special jar attachment perfect for sealing mason jar with jam, jelly, salad dressings, and other foods.
One last feature from the FoodSaver 4800 Series Vacuum Sealer and probably my favorite is that, it comes equipped with removable drip tray, so no more sticky chicken runs all over your FoodSaver, just remove it clean it and put it back in. I am in awe of my FoodSaver system because, FoodSaver® system keeps food fresh up to five times longer, helps prevent freezer burn, and saves families up to $2,700 a year.
