Join us and Chuck E. Cheese’s on Thursday, March 31 as they ramp up for National Volunteer Month (April) with a nationwide fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters! Help support this amazing organization while you and your kids have fun at Chuck E. Cheese. The Big Brothers Big Sisters Fundraiser event will be happening from 3-9 p.m. at your local Chuck E. Cheese’s store and all you have to do to participate is mention Big Brothers Big Sisters and 15% of your sale will be donated to the Big Brothers Big Sisters Fundraiser. Additionally, throughout April, you and your family can donate $1, $5 or any amount of your choice at the register to the nonprofit organization to help match “Littles” with “Big” mentors. My best tip is to get them involved. I have my kids choose items for donation at the grocery store and then help me donate the items to our local food pantry.

I believe that we teach our kids by example. Giving back is a normal part of our lives so we teach them by role modeling. We always look for ways to give to others.
Our family has been giving to toys for tots going on 11 years now.
Teaching by example; I donate clothes, etc. to churches that in turn help out families in need. Also, finding a charity that you are interested in helping and telling your child about it; my daughter even created her very own GoFundMe page to help raise money for Joyful Heart; a great charity!
I think the biggest way to help teach kids, is to lead by example. Involve them and let them help. We like to donate toys during the holiday season, and let him pick out toys for a child who might now have many. Makes them feel good!
It helps if you show children where their donation goes. It is good to make them empathetic.
I always let them donate in the big red kettle’s whenever we see them. They also donate in all the jars on countertops of restaurants.
I always let my daughter choose a couple of toys and outfits to donate at Christmas time! She loves getting to pick things out!
The best way is for your kid to come to a donation center and give donations and see the people who pick up the donations (need it).

We try to donate to Goodwill regularly.
My wife found a great idea online that we started with our boys. When they receive money for birthdays, Christmas or whenever they separate it into different envelopes. They are labeled spend, save and donate. So far it has worked well.
I think the best tip is to lead by examples because if they see you being generous with no altruistic motives then they will followed.
My kids regularly go through their toys to donate. They always sympathize and want to help. We also donate all the clothing they outgrow.
We donate every couple months to Goodwill. The kids help me with the process and dropping everything off.
We encourage our kids to use allowance money to purchase canned goods for the local food bank.
It helps to start from a young age and ask them to make a pile of stuff they play with and stuff they don’t and then go
from there.

Every year we ring the bell for Salvation Army and collect money for them.

I think teaching by example is the best way to teach my kids how to give. Taking the opportunity to explain what and why I’m giving or helping can be a great teaching moment.

When we are donating cash, I like to give the kids the money to donate. It seems to teach them to turn loose of the money for a greater cause.
We teach our kids by example and letting them be involved. We just did easter baskets for a local group that helps those in need.
I think kids need to see parents involved. I like to get them involved.
I haven’t been to Chuck-e-Cheese since I was a kid. It would be fun to share that experience with my kids.

I teach my kids by example. They know that I donate blood several times a year. Our family regularly donates food to local pantries, especially at the holidays. Outgrown clothes and shoes go to the Goodwill store a few times per year.

Lead by Example. I was brought up volunteering every Tuesday and Sunday. It was just part of our life like going to church on Sunday or doing laundry on Saturday. As I got older I started to understand the difference I was making.
