The majority of the population in The United States of America has a unique story on how they or their ancestors migrated in hopes of a brighter future. My family is no different, and if you been reading this blog for a while, you are aware that my parents, my sister and I came here in the mid 1980s in search of a better life. My husband’s family also shares a similar story and we are both thankful to our parents because their brave decision made us who we are today.
Celebrating America’s Birthday
#ThisIsWholesome
Like many typical families, this 4th of July we will be celebrating the nation’s birthday with family, friends, lots and lots of yummy food and fireworks. Our typical 4th of July celebration is, well, an all-day celebration that consists of a mix of our two cultures, Latin and American. Early on the 4th, the kids will enjoy some crafting and drawing. Later in the day, my husband will get the BBQ started, so that he can grill delicious burgers, ribs and corn. As far as I go, I will make sure that there are several sides for the entire family to enjoy, such as rice, beans, potato salad, watermelon, apple pie, tres leches, maduros, Cole slaw and much more.
As you can see our celebrations are a true blend of both cultures, and no matter how things change, what makes us wholesome never will. Honey Maid provides wholesome snacks for every wholesome family and S’mores are the ultimate compliment to any Fourth of July party! If you are looking for deliciously sweet tips and ideas for endless s’more fun, check out the Honey Maid webpage here. While you are there, did you know that just in time to celebrate America’s Birthday, Honey Maid Teddy Grahams are now available in Birthday Cake flavor? You can celebrate every day with Honey Maid Teddy Grahams Birthday Cake which contain 8 grams of whole grain and no high fructose corn syrup.
