My husband and I have been together for nearly 20 years. In those 20 years, our relationship has matured and evolved. Throughout that evolution, our relationship, especially our communication with each other, has deepened. Yes, our relationship is not perfect and we have had made mistakes along the way, but today we are making the best at raising our three kids and strengthening that connection that unites us.
Every year, it seems as though our schedules get busier and busier and thus, date nights away from the kids get rarer and rarer. So, even if we cannot enjoy a night out at the movies or escape to a quick weekend getaway, we have learned to enjoy each other’s company by enjoying our mini “date nights”. One way we accomplish this is by escaping to our family room and enjoying some of our favorite snacks, like cookies and popcorn, while we catch up with each other. #DataAndAMovie #CollectiveBias
Connection: Is the Heart of Our Relationship!
Another way we keep our connection strong is by using our phones. Yes, you read that correctly. Throughout the day, we communicate by sending each other texts. Let me rephrase that, the correct description is not texts, it is multiple texts a day. Somedays it seems as though we might just blow up our phones. 🙂 Thankfully, we have modern technology to help keep us connected. Well, sort of…
Two weeks ago, hubby had a HUGE booboo. Our favorite connection device (AKA his smartphone) was crushed into a million pieces by, let see, a bunch of cars! The moment this occurred, we quickly found out how much we really rely on our phones to help keep us connected. As fast as this happened is almost as fast as we went to our local Walmart to get a new LG G Stylo smartphone, which thankfully was only $179.00 (was $199.00) and the LG G Stylo smartphone features a handy stylus pen.
While we were checking out the phones, we also found out that Walmart has recently launched a new phone plan. The Walmart Family Mobile PLUS plan features Unlimited Talk, Text, & Data which includes up to 10GB of 4G LTE data AND a free movie on VUDU ($7 value) every month per line for $49.88. So, not only will we be able to get more communicating and connecting done with this new plan, but we get to enjoy a free movie that we can stream on our smart TV on our mini date nights. No way, did anyone say movie night?

As you can see that the steps we take to maintain our connection strong are not complicated at all. However, it has helped us maintain Connection as the Heart of Our Relationship and thus, strengthening our bond and that is the most important thing. I would love to hear from you, how do you keep connected with your significant other, especially in times of high stresses. Please drop us a note in the comment section to keep the conversation going.

It was essential to get a new phone, no way to communicate without it. 🙂
