What are your plans for your fun summer vacation? Will you be heading to a fancy location or enjoying a relaxing staycation at home with your family and loved ones? If you have been reading this blog for some time now, you know that we are all about family; therefore, our summer will be filled with terrific family celebrations. For starters, we have several birthdays during the summer season. Then, if you add to that a few anniversaries, just for fun BBQs and get together’s; you get the picture, it is non-stop celebrations.
Since our family is comprised of different nationalities, we have a few dishes that have become part of our staycations, birthdays, BBQs, and get together’s celebration. One of these dishes is our version of the classic Cuban Ham Spread or bocadito spread. Just imagine, a bit of boiled ham, a bit of cream cheese, a bit of mayo, a bit of deviled ham and a bit of Roasted Red Bell Peppers, just melt in your mouth goodness. So, whether you are traveling or having family over this Summer, treat them to a bit of Cuban Ham Spread goodness with our easy and delicious Cuban Ham Spread recipe.
Cuban Ham Spread Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup of Mezzetta Roasted Red Bell Pepper
- One 4 oz cans of deviled ham
- 1/4 pound of chopped boiled ham
- One 8 oz pack of regular cream cheese
- 3/4 Cup of regular mayonnaise
- Pita chips, small potato rolls bread or toast bread
To prepare our Cuban Ham Spread Recipe all you need to do is let your cream cheese come to room temperature. To do this, just let your cream cheese sit at room temperature for about 20-30 minutes before preparation. Then blend all your ingredients together in a food processor or blender. Refrigerate the ham spread for 30 minutes to an hour and serve. You can spread on rolls, toast or serve as a dip paired with pita chips. Yum, delicious!
As you can see this recipe is quite versatile and perfect for your Summer Staycation or celebrations! The combination of the hams, cream cheese, mayonnaise and the Mezzetta Roasted Red Bell Peppers, adds the right amount of sweetness and smokiness. Shh, don’t tell anyone, but the Mezzetta Roasted Red Bell Peppers are my secret ingredient in this recipe because not only are they delicious on their own, but they make everyone think I spent all day long roasting red bell peppers to make my Cuban Ham Spread. 🙂 Now let’s hear from you, What’s your favorite summer foods or recipes?
