Dish’s Voice Remote Now Supports Spanish Commands!

Attention Spanish speakers, you can now use all new and existing DISH voice remotes (with a connected receiver) to navigate, play, pause, fast-forward, rewind and search both live and on-demand content in Spanish! Yes, that’s right. The DISH voice remote, which has been available to support English-language in 2016, now supports Spanish language commands. This new feature is compatible with all connected generations of DISH’s Hopper DVR, as well as Joey, Wireless Joey, 4K Joey, and Super Joey clients.

Simply press the microphone button on your remote, and it will understand Spanish commands, including:

  • “Ve a Inglés Para Todos” (Go to Inglés Para Todos)
  • “¿Qué partidos de fútbol están dando ahora?” (What soccer games are on now?)
  • “Abre la guia” (Open the Guide)
  • “Ve al canal 829” (Go to Channel 829)
  • “Sintoniza Netflix” (Tune to Netflix)

How to enable Spanish for your voice remote

To enable Spanish language functionality on your voice remote, your receiver’s menu language must be set to Spanish. To change your menu language settings, follow the steps below.

  1. Go to Menu > Settings
  2. Select the Menu Language app
  3. Click Menu Language > Select Español (Spanish)

New DISH customers receive the voice remote with a Hopper at no extra cost, while existing customers can upgrade for $20. To learn more about this new feature or to become a Dish Network subscriber, visit the Dish Network Website here or Connect with Dish Network via their Facebook and Twitter Pages.
