So, I have a confession to make. I love Walt Disney World parks because they are the perfect family destination. However, my least favorite park was Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I say was, because I just feel back in love with the park all over again, ya! Last time I visited the park, I had with me, my two boys; which back then were ages 4 and 6, and I was pregnant with my daughter. They boys weren’t impressed with the park and honestly, I just wanted to go home. But, oh boy! What a difference a few years make!
Disney’s Hollywood Studios:
Where Star Wars Lives Every Day!
On my most recent visit to the park for the #ZootopiaEvent, the nostalgic feelings of visiting the park with my parents and loving every minute of it, came back full force. Not only is Disney’s Hollywood Studios better than I remember it, but it is where Star Wars lives every day and you know how big of a Star Wars family we are! Anyways, if you are like me and haven’t visited Disney’s Hollywood Studios in a few years, keep reading to see some of the things I saw and experienced while I was there.
If you and your family are HUGE Star Wars movie fans, you MUST check out the Star Wars Launch Bay. As you set food inside the indoor Star Wars Launch Bay, you can choose to watch the Star Wars Story or celebrate the Star Wars saga by exploring an immersive exhibit. If you choose to watch the Star Wars Story first, you will watch exclusive behind the scenes clip with directors, producers, and writers on the Star Wars saga. Pretty neat, to say the least! After watching the movie, make sure you make your way into the Star Wars Saga exhibit, here you can check out movie props, play games, snap photos, screen videos, and greet Star Wars heroes and villains.
Keep your eyes open, Star Wars heroes and villains are everywhere. And if you see Chewy, say Hi for me! 🙂
Before you continue exploring Disney’s Hollywood studios, stop by the Launch Bay Cargo and take home a piece of the Star Wars saga. In here you will find life-size sculptures, autographed memorabilia, high-end movie prop replicas and print-on-demand phone cases featuring your choice of extraordinary Star Wars art. Trust me, you will find everything you need for every Star Wars fan in your life!
For those of us who are HUGE fans of Pixar Studio films, riding the Toy Story Midway Mania is a MUST! This shoot ride is all about shooting the moving targets at this midway-style starring your favorite Toy Story characters. So, say hi to Woody, Buzz and all your favorite characters while at the ride. This ride is beyond fun for everyone, especially the parents.
Continue exploring the park and make your way to other popular rides, such as, The Great Movie Ride, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventures, Muppet Vision 3D, Rock ‘n Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Walt Disney: One Man’s Dream, and much more!
There is so much to see and do at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and while there, we got to enjoy a private dinner at the Disney’s Hollywood Studios Back Stage Prop shop area. This venue is reserved for special events, such as weddings and private parties. The Disney’s Hollywood Studios Back Stage Prop shop area houses props used by Disney’s parks in movies, parades, shows and more. It truly is, a special place!
If you think that after riding every ride and seeing every show, your day is over. You might start re-thinking that! What a better way to end a magical day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios that with the fireworks show: Symphony in the Stars: A Galactic Spectacular. To make it even better, you can even pay extra and enjoy the fireworks within the VIP Symphony in the Stars Dessert Party section. The price is $69.00 per adult (age 10 and over) and $39.00 for children (ages 3 to 9); tax and gratuity are included.
