So, you are planning a trip to Orlando Florida and you need to find lodging in the area. Why Should You Stay at the Doubletree by Hilton at the Entrance to Universal Orlando? Below you will find all the reasons why. 🙂
My family and I were hosted by the Doubletree by Hilton at the Entrance to Universal Orlando in exchange for an honest review of the property. No monetary compensation was received.
No matter what part of the country you are from, you know that Orlando is pretty much on everyone’s travel list. This is not just because we are in the midsts of traveling season but because Orlando is host to a long list of fun family-friendly options. Hey, but what about hotels? Well, trust me when I tell you, Orlando has you covered there also. Orlando hotels include but are not limited to themed & non-themed resorts and a variety of value-friendly options.
Why Should You Stay at the Doubletree by Hilton at the Entrance to Universal Orlando?
So, if you are planning a trip to Orlando Florida and you need to find lodging in the area. I highly recommend staying at the Doubletree by Hilton at the Entrance to Universal Orlando. But why should you stay at the Doubletree by Hilton at the entrance to Universal Orlando? Last month, we had the opportunity to experience this hotel for ourselves and today you will find all the reasons why you and your family should definitely choose this accommodation for your next family vacation. 🙂
The Doubletree by Hilton at the entrance to Universal Orlando not only offers the perfect venue for any kind of traveler and when I say any kind, I mean it. On our recent stay that the Doubletree there was a huge church conference happening at the hotel and the national dance competitors were also staying there.
Such a lively hotel for sure, but for us, the best part is that this hotel is within walking distance of Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, Universal’s Volcano Bay™ Water Park, and CityWalk and within driving distance of some of Orlando’s iconic family-friend attractions. How convenient is that?
Before I continue, let me mention that the Doubletree by Hilton at the entrance to Universal Orlando hotel, recently underwent a $25 million dollar renovation and let me just say, well done Hilton! This renovation was perfectly executed because the hotel looks and feels amazing. Another thing worth mentioning is that this hotel is truly spacious. You can see in the photo above my son demonstrating how spacious the outdoor spaces are. 🙂
The main lobby is host to some amazingly comfortable sectionals, which are conveniently located in case you need to wait in the lobby for your party or for the 4 o’clock check-in time, hey, or even to stop a minute and enjoy the courtesy free cookie you get when you check-in. Which by the way, YUM!
The lobby is also host to an American Grill restaurant, a UPS store, car rental services, and a gift shop. Taking things outdoors, the main courtyard is host to a Starbucks shop, the Sunshine CafĂ©, which offers a full delicious breakfast buffet; and Angelo’s Pizza restaurant.
Speaking of the outdoor spaces, what’s a visit to a Florida hotel without hitting the pool? The Doubletree has a Jr. Olympic heated swimming pool. You can see in the photo above that my boys really did enjoy that Jr. Olympic heated swimming pool, we couldn’t get them out of it. While my hubby and I really loved the oversized Jacuzzi next to the pool and for our baby girl, the kids’ zone came in really handy.
Now, let’s talk about the rooms at the Doubletree by Hilton. You can see a video of our room tour below. But first, let’s talk about the arrangement of this hotel. The Doubletree by Hilton at the entrance to Universal Orlando location has two towers, a north & a south tower. On our recent stay, our room was located in the south tower on the 19th floor.

Let me just say that with a family of 5, I truly appreciated that our suite had two very spacious rooms and 2.5 bathrooms, as well as, a comfortable dining room table, a kitchenette and a pool out sofa that came really handy when it was time to situate every member of our family.
Let’s explore our room!
As I mentioned before, our suite had two rooms, a junior room (which we nicknamed the “boys” room) and it came with two super comfortable queen size beds, luxurious pillows, dresser/desk combo, ergonomic desk chair, LCD flat screen TV, night table, sitting area, sitting powder/dressing room, and a very spacious bathroom with a soaking bathtub.
On the other hand, the master bedroom came with an incredibly comfortable king size bed, luxurious pillows, large seating area, dresser/desk combo, mini-fridge, night tables with under mount lighting, LCD flat screen TV, large double sink powder room, master closet, large spa-like stand-up shower, and toilet.
It is worth mentioning that both the junior and master bathrooms were equipped with irons, iron tables, and hairdryers. And if you didn’t get me saying that our suite had a half restroom, OH, MY! That half restroom/powder room was heaven sent. Well, all the bathrooms were and those bath products! The Doubletree by Hilton bath products are beyond refreshing (if you catch my drift), my daughter kept saying, “mommy, my skin smells so good!” And you know that means a lot to this mommy. 🙂
Speaking of heaven sent, having three kiddos and a hubby that love to watch movies, the Doubletree by Hilton gets an A++ for that sweet 50-inch flat screen TV in the living area. My husband was able to enjoy his soccer game and the kiddos got their TV fix by watching their favorite cartoons.
Finally, just because we are on vacation doesn’t mean that we don’t miss having quiet dinners at home. But the Doubletree by Hilton gets another A++ for proving families with a space for having meals right in your room and we did just that. By the way, thanks to the Doubletree by Hilton which provided us with a welcome basket to die for. 🙂
Speaking of yummy meals, Doubletree by Hilton at the entrance to Universal Orlando’s Sunshine CafĂ© offers a full breakfast buffet and it is Ah-mazing. My favorite was the omelet station where you can order your omelet the way you want it. As far as the kids go, they loved the fruit, yogurt, sweet bread station. One thing I loved about the Sunshine CafĂ© is their staff, they always have a friendly smile and they love to entertain the kids while the family enjoys their breakfast.
So, what are your thoughts on the Doubletree by Hilton at the entrance to Universal Orlando? Pretty neat hotel, right? If you are wondering about the location, let me just say that this hotel is well-located. Besides the location of the Doubletree by Hilton at the entrance to Universal Orlando within walking distance to Universal’s Islands of Adventure™, Universal Studios Florida™, Universal’s Volcano Bay™ Water Park and Universal CityWalk™.
