If you have been reading this blog for some time, you know that my family and I love to travel. Whether it is to a faraway destination or just a few hours North of our city, traveling give us the chance to connect and to unwind from the everyday routine. The one thing I have learned about traveling with kids is that no matter how far away you are traveling, you better travel prepared. Yes, you read that right. Trust me, no matter what you feed them and how many times you tell them to drink water and to use the potty, the moment you get in that car to head on to your destination, someone will get hungry, thirsty, and bored. Because Spring is finally here and so is summer is a matter of weeks, and because it is time to venture out on new Family Spring Adventures; I want to share with you, our best tips for traveling with kids.

Number 1 Best Tips for Traveling with Kids.
Book ahead & Take your time. If you ever traveled with kids, you know that getting from point A to point B is not easy. There will be potty stops, tantrum negotiations, many distractions along the way, and the scary part; the unknowns. So factor in the time, book ahead as many details as you can, such as your hotel room and rental car. And finally, take your time! Just remember the reason you are traveling. For the majority of us, traveling only happens because you are looking to make memories with your family, your kids don’t have the mind frame to keep up with a timeframe, so just enjoy the time with them.
Number 2 Best Tips for Traveling with Kids.
Prepare for your destination. This is a simple tip, yet one that we often overlook. For example, if you are heading to a tropical destination, don’t forget the bug spray, sunblock, and the flip flops. There is no need for leaving those flip flop behind and then having to listen to your children complain because their feet are hot. Oh! and don’t forget the hand sanitizer, those handy all-purpose wipes, and medicines, as well as, adhesive bandages and a thermometer. So, just your basic first aid kit.
Number 3 Best Tips for Traveling with Kids.
Activities and snacks. Bring plenty of activities for the different age groups traveling with you. If your children love to read, load as many kid-friendly books into your iPad or kindle e-reader. You can even encourage your children to keep a travel journal where they could illustrate and write short stories about their experiences. Finally, don’t forget the snacks. Yes, there is no way I leave my house without plenty of snacks. I do try to avoid candy and overly sugary drinks, I rather go with savory snacks and fruit juices.
