Education for Latino families is an essential part of achieving personal goals and dreams AND financial education is a big component in this task. I lived through this with my parents and sibling from a very young age. When my parents migrated to the USA, my mother didn’t speak the language but she knew that to achieve financial stability for her and her young family, she first had to learned the language. Latino families face the challenge to cope with not only a new language but a new financial system & structure. Financial stability is not automatic, one must search for necessary tools that allow us to maintain this balance and having the determination to achieve them. Today, I am happy to share with you that, I will be co-hosting a Twitter Party about the importance of financial education among Latino families on Thursday May 8th at 9pm EST/ 6pm PST! During this educational TWITTER PARTY, you will learn the importance of financial education for Latinos, including how to prepare for Life Events such as layoff, marriage, and others. You will also learn tips to stay financially fit every day, such as money management tips, resources and programs to pay off your debt, etc.
Beatriz Hartman, Community Outreach Director for Consolidated Credit Counseling Services will provide learning tips on how to use credit credits wisely, and to build budgets that will help you take control of your personal finances. Finally, Beatriz will present her view on what it will take for Latino families to improve their Finances in the next 5 to 10 years.
