Take advantage of this rare opportunity! Learn about the traditions of Afro-Peruvians. Join Perú Expresión for an informative performance of the little-known music and dance of this community. This program is presented by the South Florida Folklife Center as part of the Heritage Spotlight series, an artist-in-residence program featuring local, traditional artists.

Every Saturday evening, a traditional live performance will take place at the Ramblas Plaza Stage. The performances will feature cultural acts representing Spain, Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, Bolivia, Venezuela, Cuba, and Puerto Rico. Guests will be entertained by Vallenato, Tambores, Mariachi, Tango, Flamenco and Cumbia among other live performing acts.

Macy’s Miami International (Saturday, October 5): Head over to Macy’s at Miami International Mall for a special event as they commemorate Hispanic American contributions to fashion, music and culture embodied by Macy’s 2013 Icon of Style Dora the Explorer. Hosted by Cuban-American mom, wife and entrepreneur, Luly B., the event will include a Reading Circle event with featured Dora book “Dora’s Chilly Day,” a backpack craft station and the opportunity to meet Dora’s cousin, Diego, and take a photo with him.
