“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you go…” and Disneyland is no exception to this rule! This past weekend, I made my way to Disneyland to experience the joys of the holiday season at the happiest place on earth. So, if you are thinking of visiting the parks at the California complex, we have gathered everything that is going on at the there here in our guide to holiday time at Disneyland.

Sleeping Beauty castle

As soon as you set foot at the Disneyland California complex, you will notice that Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Parks go all out for the Holiday season, especially with Disneyland’s iconic centerpiece and their classic rides. Let’s begin with Sleeping Beauty castle which has gone a massive magical transformation for the season. This year the iconic Sleeping Beauty castle has been transformed with white-snow capped turrets and hundreds of white LED lights. It is simply magical.

It’s a small world

Speaking of magic, Disneyland didn’t stop with Sleeping Beauty’s castle. This Holiday season, some of their classic rides got a facelift of their own. Let’s start with It’s a small world. If you are a fan of It’s a small world, this Holiday season, you will love it even more. This classic ride received a holiday upgrade for the season, hundredths of colored lights were added to the outside of the ride, as well as the inside. New decor was also added such as snowmen, icicles, snowflakes and even the featured songs were transformed to create a new holiday medley. So, be sure to take a trip on It’s a small world this holiday season. But Disneyland didn’t stop its’ magical transformation with the It’s a small world ride, so the next ride is also a must-ride.

The Haunted Mansion

You might be familiar or this might even be your favorite ride of all times. The Haunted Mansion received a merry makeover inspired by Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. You won’t want to miss the Haunted mansion this holiday season. Insider’s-tip: keep your eyes peeled for the giant gingerbread house that is part of the ballroom scene, you might even smell it before you see it!

Star Tours – The Adventure Continues

Of course, Disneyland didn’t only stop with their iconic centerpiece and classic rides. While at Disneyland, you will also enjoy festive touches everywhere. Enjoy garland-wrapped lampposts and rooftops to glittering lights and holiday buntings, it is just a magical time to head on over to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Parks. However, before you cross over to Disney California Adventure park to enjoy the holidays there, be sure to check out “Star Tours – The Adventure Continues” ride.

As you may have heard that Star Wars: The Last Jedi arrives in theaters on December 15 and before you see the film, you can blast off on a thrilling tour of the Star Wars galaxy aboard a Starspeeder 1000 in the Star Tours – The Adventures Continue ride. I did and the ride is pretty awesome! Here you will come face-to-face with Kylo Ren, Poe Dameron, BB-8 and other characters as you voyage to amazing alien worlds like Jakku and Crait. This ride is definitely a must-do while at Disneyland.

In Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the Skywalker saga continues as the heroes of The Force Awakens join the galactic legends in an epic adventure that unlocks age-old mysteries of the Force and shocking revelations of the past.

Disney California Adventure Park

But the Holiday fun doesn’t end at Disneyland. Oh, no! Make your way to Disney California Adventure park because The Festival of Holidays is making its return to the park this year. For the second year running, Disney California Adventure is celebrating the season with special entertainment, music, and delicious multicultural foods! From yummy-licious bites to spirited libations and decadent desserts, you will be sure to find something to satisfy your palate at the different Festive Foods Marketplace kiosks during the Festival of Holidays. Of course, food is just the beginning.

Disney California Adventure Park – Car’s Land.

Disney California Adventure has surely dressed up for the festivities. While at the park enjoy the heartwarming delights live music, dance, holiday-inspired performances and of course, Disney decor and Disney magic throughout the park. While I was there, my favorite had to be the Car’s Land area where they have an adorable Car’s inspired Christmas tree. So, this area is for surely a must-visit this holiday season.

Radiator Springs Racers

While at the Car’s Land area, be sure to grab a pic with my favorite car, Lighting McQueen and then head on over and get your racers on at the Radiator Spring Racers. Oh and don’t forget to ride Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters, that is such a fun ride whether you are visiting with family or with your friends.

Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!

Finally, just because it is the holiday season, it doesn’t mean that visiting the Disneyland and Disney California Adventure parks have to be only about the music, entertainment, and holiday decor. Oh, no! for us thrill seekers, there is plenty to do and see at both parks. Ride your favorite rollers, rides, and see your favorite live shows.

There is truly so much to see and do at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure park, but above all, it is truly a magical experience to see the Disneyland complex during the Holiday season! I highly recommend visiting Disneyland and Disney California adventure this holiday season with your family and friends. I can tell you for sure that you will have a total blast there while enjoying the season.
