Mother’s day is once again here, just in case you are forgetting! 🙂 After we become parents ourselves, we learned to appreciate what our moms have done for us. Last year I wrote about my celebration of two people who have influenced my life in a HUGE way, you can read my Mother’s Day 2013 post here. Today I will be talking about 5 Lessons I learned from my mom and what I am passing on to my children.
Lesson number 1: Make a point to celebrate & mark special occasions: Take lots of pics on their birthday, even if they don’t want to. Wear a new uniform on the first day of school and take a picture on the same spot every year. Also, walked them to their classroom and take a pic seating on their assigned desk, they will appreciated it one day.
Lesson number 2: Teach them to be humble & to pay it forward. Humility & helpfulness are important traits to conserve throughout your life. My mother always told me to learn to pay it forward without expecting anything in return, life always find a way to paying it back!
Lesson number 3: Teach them to say Thank you, I Love you, Good morning & Good night. Always kiss them good night, even when you are busy. Teach them to say Thank you for the things you get, such as special trips, outings, & family vacations.
Lesson 4: Teach them to find something to do own their own when they are bored. Keep pencils, paper, crafts, scissors around to encourage their creativity.
Lesson 5: Encourage them to follow their dreams, even when you are scared to let them go! As the years go by and your baby becomes a mom, let her make her own mistakes, but never stop being MOM!
Happy Mother’s Day Mom & to all the Mommies in the world!
