You just found out that you are expecting, and then it dawns on you, the expenses you will acquire in the first 2 to 5 years of your little bundle of joy! From clothing, accessories, must-haves to those monthly expenses, such as diapers; yes, they will add up rather quickly. If you consider that your newborn will soil at least 10 diapers per day during its first month and then add all the diapers you will need that first year it comes out to around 2788 diapers. That’s a lot of diapers, plus over $500 worth of hard earned money; that can surely put a dent in your wallet. Today, I want to share with you a few tips on How to Save Money on Diapers.
How to Save Money on Diapers
I am sure that you are just like me and don’t want to spent that kind of money purchasing diapers. Therefore, my number one tip to save money on diapers is to start early. While I was pregnant with my kids, I began purchasing diapers whenever there was a sale. I followed sales, and looked for any in-store promotions going on in my area. Oh, don’t forget to check the clearance section, I have scored diapers for under $5.00 a package.
Another great way to save money on diapers is by enrolling in rewards programs from the different diaper brands. Go on to the diaper brand’s webpage and enroll in their specific rewards program, these programs not only offer high-value coupons; which you can use when your local store has in-store promotions, but you can also turn the diapers reward points into free diapers, gift cards and more.
Another tip to save money on diapers is to purchase diapers online from such retailers as Amazon.com Different online retailers offer several diaper services, for example Amazon offers free two-day shipping, 20% off and clip-less coupons through their Amazon Mom membership. Not only do you save money, you also save a trip to the store. That’s huge when you have a newborn at home.
Finally, the biggest diaper savings is to potty train your toddler as soon as they are ready. Some kids potty train sooner than others; therefore, watch for clues and cues that they are interested in the potty. For those of you interested in reading more about potty training, I will share a few potty training tips next week. Until then, stay tuned. As you can see from the tips above, with just a little bit of planning and research, you will be able to save lots of money on those diaper years.
