Incredibles 2 Review: Totally Worth The Wait! We are giving you seven reasons why we think Incredibles 2 was totally worth the wait.
The most anticipated sequel of 2018 is finally here! Yes, if the title of this post was any kind of clue; I am talking about Incredibles 2, which is finally now in theaters everywhere and trust me when I say this, the fourteen-year wait was totally worth it! Disney•Pixar, director Brad Bird, and the Incredibles 2 cast did an amazing job. Before we move on to why this sequel was totally worth the wait, let’s recap what The Incredible sequel is all about.
Official Trailer
Everyone’s favorite family of superheroes is back in “Incredibles 2” – but this time Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is in the spotlight, leaving Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell) and Dash (voice of Huck Milner) to navigate the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life. It’s a tough transition for everyone, made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jack’s emerging superpowers. When a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot, the family and Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) must find a way to work together again—which is easier said than done, even when they’re all Incredible.

Why is Incredibles 2 Totally Worth The Wait!
First of all, why was Incredibles 2 totally worth the wait? Well, if you look forward to seeing any Disney•Pixar films because of the short films playing in front of them. Then you out to know that Incredibles 2 gets its own short, entitled Bao. Bao is about an aging Chinese mom suffering from empty-nest syndrome welcomes another chance at motherhood when one of her dumplings springs to life as a lively, giggly dumpling boy. Her newfound happiness is short-lived, however, when she soon realizes that nothing stays cute and small forever, and even dumplings grow up. This short is beautiful, amazingly executed, and extremely relatable.

Elasticgirl to the rescue?
Let’s move on to the second reason why is Incredibles 2 was totally worth the wait! 2004 The Incredibles was all about familiarizing ourselves with Bob (Mr. Incredible), Helen (Elastigirl), and their super kids. Incredibles 2 is still about the Incredibles as a whole, however, this time with a focus on super mom, Helen, go super moms! Incredibles 2 literary begins where The Incredibles left off or better yet, only fifteen minutes before The Incredibles ends. Yes, superheroes are still illegal in Incredibles 2, however, Helen aka Elastigirl is called on to help bring Supers back. Her mission comes with a brand-new Elastisuite and a state-of-the-art Elasticycle, which is designed just for her, hey, I want that supercycle just for me! 🙂
Jack-Jack is a super?!
As I mentioned in our second reason why was Incredibles 2 totally worth the wait, I mentioned that Incredibles 2 is all about this superfamily and is still true in this sequel. As you can remember at the end of The Incredibles we see that Jack-Jack show his superpowers away from his parents, but that was just the beginning. Speaking of The Incredibles’s ending.
During the final scenes, we see the Underminder emerge from under the ground. However and because, I am not going to spoil it for you guys, of the events that transpire, Bob aka Mr. Incredible is forced to navigates the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life at home. Bob attempts his most heroic feat yet: spearheading life at home with Violet, Dash and baby Jack-Jack, whose superpowers are about to be discovered by his entire family.
Let me just say that Jack-Jack’s powers go through a major growth spurt in this film which leaves his family trying to figure out how to handle them! But Jack-Jack is not the only one going through a growth spurt, Violet is also going through the “teenage stuff”! 🙂 For that reason alone, this is the third reason why is Incredibles 2 was totally worth the wait and did I mentioned that Jack-Jack steals the show!? Well, you will see why when you watch the movie.

Cooler than ever, Frozone is back!
The fourth reason why is Incredibles 2 was totally worth the wait is an obvious one. Mr. cooler than ever aka Frozone is back and this time he is lending a helping hand when the Parrs kids need him most. Dash (Huckleberry Milner), Violet (Sarah Vowell), and Baby Jack-Jack (Eli Fucile) find themselves in a pickle when Lucius Best (Samuel L. Jackson) aka Frozone has to come to their rescue which is cool and funny at the same time.
Now the fifth and sixth reason why Incredibles 2 was totally worth the wait is all about the new characters. Yes, Incredibles 2 introduces a lot of new characters to the franchise. From savvy siblings and business partners Evelyn and Winston Deavor to the newest superheroes who have the Incredibles and Frozone as the only superheroes they have ever know. Let’s begin with the brother and sister duo, Evelyn and Winston Deavor, these two summon Frozone, Elastigirl, and Mr. Incredible to share a plan designed to ultimately make Supers legal again. Featuring Catherine Keener as the voice of Evelyn and Bob Odenkirk as the voice of Winston.
Now let’s meet the new supers in Incredibles 2. When Elastigirl is called on to lead a mission to bring back Supers, she meets a group of new Supers who aspire to join the ranks, including Voyd (Sophia Bush), a mega-fan whose superpower is the ability to divert and manipulate objects around her. Voyd is not alone in these new superhero additions, joining her is Phil LaMarr as Krushauer and HeLectrix, and Paul Eiding as Reflux. As you can see, I cannot say much about these new characters because I don’t want to spoil the movie for anyone, but I really like the new additions to the Incredibles team.
“Done properly, parenting is a heroic act” – Edna Mode
Last but not least, our seventh reason why Incredibles 2 was totally worth the wait is Edna Mode herself (voiced by Brad Bird himself)! The Incredibles breakout character was Edna for sure and in Incredibles 2 she is back in all her glory and her interactions with baby Jack-Jack are the funniest bids ever! 🙂 So, there, here are seven reasons why Incredibles 2 was totally worth the wait!
