Keeping the kids active doesn’t have to be an uphill battle, you can easily keep your kids active while having fun. My boys are big into team sports, as a matter of fact, my oldest boy has been playing soccer since he was 4 years old. Whether we are attending soccer practices, cheering at soccer games, playing at the park or traveling together, we are an on the go family! This is why in my opinion it’s pretty easy to keep the kids active while having fun! Today, I want to share with you a few tips to help you keep your kids active while enjoying the activities you already do as a family!

First of all, go outside and have fun. Teach your kiddos to enjoy the games you played as a child, start with the classics: tag, Hokey Pokey, Hide & Seek, and Hopscotch. By doing this you will not only encourage them to be active but they will have a ton of fun and the best part is that you will get to create fun memories together.

Second, explore the world around you. Whether you do this at the local park, at the nearest beach or in a new city or country, set out to learn and explore other cultures. Find local venues that have interesting walk ways or head on over to your local zoo. If you are going on vacation, walk around and experience different cultures through the locals and local attractions. The kids will have fun learning, plus they will be active with you & together you will create unforgettable memories of your journeys & trips.

Thirdly, teach the kids about foods that will help fuel their active growing bodies. Get the kids in the kitchen and let them cook and prepare snacks to help their bodies keep in motions. If you are going on a new adventure, get them involved and let them pack their own snacks, such as the new Honey Maid Go Bites. Honey Maid GoBites are filled crackers with crispy pockets of delicious fillings delivering protein and whole grains. With five grams of protein and seven grams of whole grains in every 30 gram serving, it’s a snack they’ll love and you’ll feel good about. Honey Maid GoBites come in chocolate or vanilla flavors.

Lastly, do chores together. Make chores a fun experience, don’t make rules when cleaning, make it a game. Who can put the toys away fastest? or Who can sweep the floor before the song is over? Forget about the rules and have fun, they will see that doing chores is fun and in turn it will help them feel as responsible members of the family. After finishing, go outside and have more fun. 🙂

Now let’s hear from you, how do you keep your kids active while you have fun? Leave us a comment in the comment section below. Have an amazing day with your little ones playing outside!
