After a long summer of fun adventures and discovering the world around us, it is only natural to feel nostalgic and a bit sadden to think that we only have a few weeks to go before the new school year begins. For us, the fears of the new school year changed drastically from last year to this school year. Well, the answer is into two parts. The first part is by parents helping the school by volunteering their time, talents, and even contributing with snacks the kids can eat during snack time. The second part is by simply purchasing products that have BoxTops on them.
Learning Made Better with BoxTops
If you are a parent of young children, you might already be aware of the Box Tops for Education initiative. And if you are not aware of this amazing initiative because your kids are not of school age yet or because you are a grandparent or aunt or uncle, the initiative is quite simple. To earn Box Tops all you have to do is BUY General Mills products that have Box Tops already on them; then CLIP the Box Tops from the participating products; then SEND in your Box Tops to your school coordinator; and finally your school will EARN 10¢ for each turned in Box Top. Easy right?
As I said before, my kids’ school makes it easy to collect Box Tops since we send in snacks for the kids to enjoy during break time. Knowing that I will be sending snacks for the kids to enjoy, I am always on the lookout for the packages that have 5 Box Tops on them. Usually, these Box Tops are available during the weeks leading up to the new school year. Of course, I always find tons of these products at my local Walmart store.
So, now that you know our experiences with Box Tops and how the initiative works, get buying General Mills products now and earn 5-for-1 Box Tops. You never know, maybe your kids’ school can earn enough to get a new playground, a new hi-tech classroom or even a cool after school program.
