What do you get when you combine one family + one car + one quick getaway north? Well, the answer is a fun-filled weekend! Last weekend, my family and I made a quick escaped to a galaxy far, far, far away! Ha, nah, well not that far away anyways. 🙂 We just packed up our bags and headed to Orlando to check out Legoland Star Wars Days. Before I continue, I have to say that making the four-hour drive from South Florida to Orlando has never been so quiet and that’s because each kiddo had enough space to stretch out in the new 2018 Chevy Traverse, more about the Traverse below. But first, let me tell how much fun it is to experience this galactic fun-filled event happening for just a limited time at Legoland Florida
If you have been following our adventures here or on social media, you know that we are HUGE Star Wars fans and to boot, we cannot get enough of Florida’s theme parks. This is why, when I learned that Legoland will be unveiling their newest Star Wars Miniland addition, I knew that I had to surprise the kiddos with a quick weekend getaway to celebrate my daughter’s birthday and an early mother’s day treat for myself.
Legoland Star Wars Days
On May 4, Legoland unveiled the LEGO® Star Wars™: The Force Awakens MINILAND model display. During Legoland Star Wars Days you will have the opportunity to take photos with some of LEGO® Star Wars™: The Force Awakens characters as well. 2018 Chevrolet Traverse
Speaking of new adventures and new memories, we sure made quite the memories aboard the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse this past week. This all-new 2018 mid-size crossover provided my family of five with plenty of room to stretch out in full comfort. In the time we had the Traverse, it quickly became one of my favorite SUV’s I have driven in a quite some time.
Our positive experience was enhanced by the Traverse genuinely functional interior. But don’t take my word for it, let’s explore some of our favorite features onboard the second generation 2018 Chevrolet Traverse.
So, let’s start with an overview of some of our favorite specs on the Traverse Premier trim. The first thing you notice as you set foot inside the Traverse is how roomy this mid-size SUV is. From there on, you will notice how comfortable the drive and passenger seats feel and trust me the comfort doesn’t end with the front seats.

Traverse Rear Camera Mirror
As you start to familiarize with the Chevrolet Traverse, one of the first things you will notice that the rearview mirror surface doubles as a video screen, providing you with a wider, less obstructed field of view behind the vehicle. This is actually one of my husband’s favorite features on the Traverse.

Surround Vision Technology
Now, let’s talk about the 360 surround vision technology, which creates a virtual bird’s-eye view of the vehicle when parking or when traveling at low speeds. Let’s face it, if you love technology and your car’s backup camera, you are definitely going to love the 360 surround vision feature on the Traverse.
Traverse Storage Galore
If you have kids, you know that storage and cup holders are a must in any family car. In these two areas, the Traverse gets an A++ for innovation. Seriously, Chevrolet though of everything in these specific areas. So, if it’s storage is what your family needs, then you will be thrilled to learn that the Traverse is equipped with plenty of storage not only on the driver and passengers doors but also on their rear doors. You will also find plenty of storage and cup holders on the center console and third row. As well, as a neat hidden storage on the dashboard, which by the way, you can lock.
Traverse Dual SkyScape 2-panel Power Sunroof
One of my kiddos favorite features on the Traverse are the dual SkyScape 2-panel power sunroof. Yeah, these sunroofs were a big hit while driving to Orlando and while running errands around our town.
Traverse USB Ports Outlets
This next feature was such a lifesaver during our trip to Orlando this past weekend, I am talking about the Traverse USB ports outlets. The Traverse not only comes equipped with a wireless charging station right on the front dashboard, but it is also equipped with USB ports outlets in every row. Yes, that means that not only the first two rows get their own USB ports, the third-row passengers do as well.
Traverse has Plenty of Cargo Space
Speaking of USB and storage spaces, the Traverse third row and is not shabby at all. You would think that with a mid-size 7 to 8 passengers SUV, you would get a lot of cargo and that the third-row passengers would be cramped. But no, on the contrary, the Traverse offers plenty of space for both roomy second and third rows; as well as, plenty of cargo space.
If cargo is what you need, the Traverse third row seats can easily be stowed away providing you with 98.2 cubic feet of space. Raise the third-row seats and a 22 cubic feet of dedicated cargo space remain complemented by a hidden underfloor rear storage compartment to boot.
Traverse Under the Hood
Finally, as I said before, the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse is a pretty sweet drive. What I loved the most is that is plenty efficient. Although the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse is equipped with a 3.6L V-6 and nine-speed automatic transmission, it aids it fuel consumption with an automatic engine stop/start system, which helps save gas when the vehicle is motionless. Super cool technology. So, tell me have you driven the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse already? Let me know in the comment section below.
