I love the Holiday season and one thing we make sure to do is watch a lot of Holiday movies, both classics and new titles. My boys have lots of movie, but this year our mission has been to add more movies that can be enjoyed by both girls and boys. When I was given the opportunity to review the newest My Little Pony A Very Minty Christmas DVD, which is the first film to be released from Shout! Factory’s new My Little Pony Classic Movies reissue program, I jumped at the opportunity because I knew it would be a great addition to our movie collection.

The “Here Comes Christmas Candy Cane” is an important part of Ponyville — it’s the beacon that shows jolly old Santa Claus the way to the town as he makes his holiday rounds each year. But when Minty accidentally breaks it, uh-oh! It looks like Ponyville is destined to have a bleak holiday season. Minty is determined to do anything to save Christmas for her Pony friends while they, in turn, band together to try and cheer up their despondent friend. Together, they all discover that Christmas can come anyway, wrapped in the love of good friends and the oversized heart of one little clumsy, minty-green Pony!
Last week, after the hustle and bustle of Thanksgiving, we had the change to sit down as a family and watch the 45-minute movie. The movie is great, the scenes are colorful and bright, we specially liked the message the movie conveys. Friendship, sharing and caring for others is what the holidays are all about! Minty and her friends are so cute!
The DVD includes a sing-along bonus feature, which came in very handy, as my daughter is currently in the sing-along phase. Overall, the movie will be a great addition to any movie collection, specially now with Christmas only a few weeks away.
