Magical Family Moments with @disneyjuniorusa #DisneyJuniorFamilia
♫♫ Hot dog, hot dog, hot diggety dog. Now we got ears, it’s time for cheers. Hot dog, hot dog, the problem’s solved. Hot dog, hot dog, hot diggety dog…♫♫ I am not going crazy, if you are a parent of a toddler you are very familiarized with “The Hot Dog” song from Disney Junior morning show Mickey Clubhouse. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse as well as other Disney Junior shows are part of my daughter’s morning routine and during the summer months, as well as for the boys routine. Here in Miami we are in our second week of Summer break and needless to say, it has been quite an adventure, this week the boys have been busy at camp but our afternoons have been a little damp in typical Miami summer pattern.
But a little rain didn’t put a damper on our fun afternoon adventures, thankfully, we have been quite busy participating in the Disney Junior #DisneyJuniorFamilia Photo-A-Day challenge, which ended yesterday. We went from smiling with our best friend Mickey, dressing up as a royal, outdoor adventures, getting checkups, indoor picnics, cuddling, wearing polka dots, posing with our sidekicks, story time and to end the photo-a-day challenge we closed with family movie time. What a beautiful adventure this past 10 days have been, did you see all of our pics on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook? I hope you participated as well as had fun along with us.
To continue with our Disney Junior fun we decided to make a DIY craft and snacks inspired by our favorite characters Mickey and Minnie. I have been a fan of the cutest couple in the world (in my opinion) since I was young, as a matter of fact, my entire wedding was inspired by Mickey and Minnie. Our cake cutter and flutes are Mickey and Minnie set, I still have them and cherish them and I hope that one day my children will also uses these wedding set on their special day.
My oldest son decide to make two Mickeys & a Minnie cones: one for himself, one his brother and one for his little sister. He used craft paper, scissors, paper glue and ribbon. As you can see from the images above and below, this DIY is simple & easy and it is the perfect activity to keep the kiddos entertained on a rainy summer afternoon.
All this crafting makes one hungry! 🙂 As a family, we decided to make Mickeys & Minnies Chocolate Dipped Apple Bites, this recipe is super easy and we had everything we needed in the house. I used a potato peeler to remove the outer apple skin and used a cookie cutter to make round shapes. We melted some chocolate and dipped the apple round in it, we chilled the chocolate dipped apple round for around an hour. We also dipped marshmallows in chocolate and let them chilled in the freezer. After the chocolate set, we added some red color sugar sprinkles to the chocolate apple rounds and cut the marshmallows in halves to formed the character’s ears, easy does it.
The kids loved their Mickeys & Minnies Chocolate dipped apple bites for their afternoon snack. What do you think of our DIY home entertainment? Now, I would love to hear from you… How do you keep the kiddos entertained? What kind of crafts and snack do your kiddos like to do and eat? Are your little ones fans of any of the Disney Junior shows? And finally, who is your favorite Disney character?
