Make Every Dollar Count, learn how to make your money work for you.
Are you a spender? or a budgeter? I am definitely a budgeter! Yes, I am that person that has a budget for my budgets. Some people might be scared to make a budget or to stay within or keep up with their budgets, I am not! Having gone from a steady income to self-employed income is life changing, to say the least. Almost two years ago, my husband quit his job to go back to school full-time. For our family, this meant that we would have to rely on my self-employed income 110%, which is not easy by any means. Since my income fluctuates from month-to-month, staying within our monthly budget is a MUST and therefore, we must make sure that every single dollar we spent counts. So, how do we make every dollar count?
~How do We Make Every Dollar Count?~
First order of business, we STOPPED spending money we haven’t earned. Additionally, we stopped creating additional debt. We try to pay everything in cash and whatever is paid using our credit card, must be paid at the end of every the month. So, basically, if we don’t have it, it doesn’t get purchased. Again, we don’t live above our means, we try to budget everything from a simple home repair, kids’ school uniforms and supplies to our yearly family vacations.
Secondly, we created a budget and a saving goal that can help us stay within our plans. The key to sticking to our budget is to discipline ourselves and that no matter what, our budget has to be met. So, how do we create a budget that we can stick to? Well, thanks to EveryDollar, creating a budget for your money and living within that plan is easy. Let me show you how.
Since we all live in the digital age, I ditched the old ways of creating a budget AKA spreadsheets (yuck!) and moved to using the EveryDollar online platform or via the Android or iPhone app. Interesting yet? Well, not only EveryDollar super easy to setup and use, it only takes 10 minutes to create your first budget. Hey, the best part is that EveryDollar is free to use and if you want to take it a step further, with EveryDollar Plus, you can even connect your bank account and see your budgeting in real time. Which ultimately, will help you stick to your plans.
Let’s face it, budgeting and staying accountable is not easy when you are doing it alone, that’s why I say, that it takes a village to accomplish and to stick to it. When I say village, I don’t mean your neighbor, I mean, your kids and your spouse. One thing I like about EveryDollar is that you can connect multiple devices & can access on different platforms. Which is the perfect way to get everyone involved, especially your partner! 🙂 As you can see with a little bit of disciple and with the help of EveryDollar you and I can stay on budget through 2017 and beyond! So, have you tried EveryDollar yet? If so, what is your favorite feature? Share it with us by dropping us a note via the comment section below.

I’m used to using spreadsheets and those are a nightmare most times. I defiantly love how you can connect your bank account to this meaning your app stays updated with what your real finances are and also that it updates its self! Awesome!
Right! No more spreadsheets nightmares. Now your finances are on the go, just like us. 🙂
I am definitely a spender and it gets me in trouble a lot. Thanks I am going to check out that spread sheet.
I hope EveryDollar helps you, come back and let us know. 🙂
What a great way to hold yourself accountable and keep everything organized. It’s nice to see your savings grow while cutting unnecessary spending to a minimum (my big flaw). I’ll definitely check everydollar out! Thank you Ana!
I agree with you, unnecessary spending are killers. Hope you like this app, let us know if you do! 🙂

If you hate your spreadsheets, you are going to love this.
I agree. I am lucky that I am married to an accountant and we definitely do all we can to make sure every dollar counts.
Robin, you are one lucky lady! 🙂
I’ve been wanting to be more aware of every dollar I spend so this app sounds so helpful! I’ll take a look at it when I have some time
I would definitely check this spreadsheet and maybe this could help me know where does my money go. lol
This app looks great. We live on a budget and have been following a program that has allowed us to pay off all of our debt, work on savings, and form a plan to put money away for our future. Thank you for introducing another outlet to help us succeed.
I needed this right now! Thanks so much. I’m so happy there are no spreadsheets LOL
This is a very useful app. I am also a budgeter but mostly in my mind, I know about how much I can spend each month. I can see the use of this app, for giving accurate data and be in control of your finance.
Every dollar looks like such a great budgeting tool! I love how pretty and clean the layout is.
I love this! I need to start watching what I am spending. EveryDollar sounds awesome!
I use a drawing pad for everything a tally my budget/spending via the calculator app on my phone. We’ve been budgeting like crazy lately, saving up for our home. Renting can really hurt your pockets when you’re looking to save cash.
Every dollar sounds perfect for people who would like to organize their finances in order to come up with a budget. It’s definitely going to help a lot!
I’m bad with figures so my hubby handle all our finances. I’ll tell him about this app. Thanks for sharing!
That’s a great way to keep track of your spending. I’m so visual and this would let me see where money is going. Love ti!
I am the spender. My hubby is the saver and together we make a budget.

Omg that god for technology these days!!! I hated the days of using spreadsheets
