My husband and I have always enjoyed traveling and experiencing new places and different cultures. Our first trip together was to Disney World in Orlando in 1997, which was just the beginning. We took our first cruise for our honeymoon and we were hooked, we love cruising, so far we have taken over 20 cruises. When the kids came along we always wonder if it was going to be feasible to continue traveling with kids. Well, we didn’t have to wait that long to find the answer, we took our oldest son on his first cruise when he was just 3-months old. YES, you read correctly, he was just 3-months old. After our second son was born things got interesting, my husband and I agreed that it was not going to be easy but we pushed through it and ended up taking both kids on a cruise when the baby was just 5-months old. Along the way we have learned what works for our family and I wanted to share with you all what we have learned. Our friends at Pasta de Lassar has gratuitously provided us with a giveaway for you, please enter below.
My tips for car traveling:
- Portable DVD player and lots of movies.
- Hand-held video games & games
- Pencils, coloring pencils and plenty of paper.
- Blankets and pillow for comfort.
- Snacks and water.
- First aid kit, we have one in the car all the time.
- Pack plenty of diapers & mufti-purpose wipes.
- Multi-purpose skin protectant, such as Pasta de Lassar.
- Stroller, if you want to be on the safe side, many locations offer rentals.
If you are traveling in the summer don’t forget sunblock, hats, sunglasses, shorts, light clothing and mosquito repellent. If you are traveling in the Spring don’t forget to pack umbrellas and or ponchos as well as the items mention before. If you are traveling in the Winter sunblock, warm clothing, hats and gloves.
My tips for Cruise traveling:
- Pack plenty of diaper & baby wipes.
- Multi-purpose skin protectant, such as Pasta de Lassar.
- No snacks or drinks, there are plenty of those in cruises.
- Formal wear. On the last cruise we took we did not attend any of the formal nights, so we skipped the formal wear.
- Stroller.
- Pack fewer clothes, we learned this the hard way. Try to pack outfits that can be reuse, such as denims pants or shorts.
In my opinion cruising is the best choice for families with little kids, cruises offer lots of kid-friendly activities. One of the benefits we enjoy from cruising is that you only need to unpack once at the beginning of your cruise and pack again at the end. I hope you find my tips beneficial and helpful.

bring lots of toys and snacks. But pack toys that they have never seen before that way they are totally into it for awhile longer.
Para la protección de los niños, nunca olvidemos llevar con nosotros: Gorro, protector solar y agua!
