This past week we celebrated Thanksgiving with the family and let me tell you something, I am in-love with our NEW Newair AI-215R Portable Ice Maker. It never fails but every time we have company over we either run out of ice, because our refrigerator ice maker cannot handle the load or we end up with too much ice because we buy too many bags. You might be thinking why having extra ice is such an issue, well Ice bags are bulky and take up too much space in our refrigerator freezer. Since I was given the opportunity to review the slick Newair AI-215R Portable Ice Maker, we don’t have any issues with our ice supply.
Makes ice in as little as 13 minutes!
Let me highlight some of the features we like the most from the Newair AI-215R Portable Ice Maker: First of all, the ice maker makes ice in as little as 13 minutes, no kidding! All you do is add water to the tank (which is located right underneath the ice tray), turn on the ice maker, select from the 3 ice cube sizes (for personalized use: small, medium or large) and wait for your first batch of ice. It is as simple as that! Newair AI-215R Portable Ice Maker doesn’t require an external supply of water, its reservoir has a capacity of 2 quarts of water and can make up to 50 pounds of ice, isn’t that amazing!?

Another feature, we like is that the portable ice maker includes a handy storage bin for added convenience. You can leave the ice cubes (bullets) inside the unit, this is extremely convenient specially when you have guest over, no need to continually empty the ice as it’s made. The ice maker is efficient as it has an automatic shut off switch, no need to run-up the electric bill. As I said the Newair AI-215R portable ice maker comes equipped with an LCD display for easy operating and it is extremely user-friendly. When you had enough ice, simply unscrew the water drain cap and drained out the remaining water, easy does it. I would advice to dry the excess moisture from the interior of the unit before closing the lid after each use.

Lastly, the Newair AI-215R Portable Ice Maker includes a see-thru window for optimal viewing, the kids cannot get enough of seeing the ice fall into the ice tray, no need to open the lid to see the how much ice you have. One of the things I like the most is that Newair AI-215R Portable Ice Maker is self cleaning, take out the ice tray and add a mixture of water and vinegar or water and lemon juice and select clean from the LCD display. The unit will self-clean in about 5 to 6 minutes, drain the water and store.
We truly have enjoyed the Newair AI-215R Portable Ice Maker, everyone we have had over has enjoyed it as well. Both my mother-in-law and my sister will be looking to getting one for their spouses for this Christmas. I want to thank Newair for allowing us to review this wonderful product.
