Did you know that nationwide 1 in 5 kids struggle with hunger? That number is staggering, but what is more shocking to me is that, here in the state of Florida the number is even higher. Believe it or not, in the state of Florida, 1 in 4 kids go without breakfast every single day. The Miami-Dade school system does an amazing job at spreading the word that breakfast are FREE countywide. However, only 15% of kids who receive free or reduced lunches are also getting summer meals. As a mother of three school age children, these disheartening statistics only strengthens my continued commitment to partner with Denny’s to help spread the word about their No Kid Hungry initiative. Please keep reading, you too can help make a difference.
No Kid Hungry Program Helps to Feed Kids Throughout the U.S
#DennysDinersNo Kid Hungry® Florida Hunger at a Glance
Studies have shown that kids who eat school breakfast are more apt to attend class, perform better on standardized tests and, as a result, are 20 percent more likely to graduate high school. Those kids who eat breakfast also to benefit as adults, as adults earning an average of 10,000 more annually. However, not enough kids are eating school breakfast. 21 Million of U.S kids get free or reduced price school lunch, but only 1/2 of those kids get breakfast, even though they’re eligible.
I am part of the Team No Kid Hungry® Program
This is where No Kid Hungry starts. Denny’s is kicking-off their fifth annual fundraising efforts for No Kid Hungry®. This year Denny’s is striving to make an even greater impact on the cause, to which they have donated $2.3 million to-date, helping provide 23 million meals to kids in need across the country.
Now through Oct. 12, nearly 1,600 Denny’s restaurants nationwide will join the campaign and help the fight against childhood hunger. As I said before, you can also make a difference, but how? Well, for just a $3 donation that you make, you will receive $9 worth of coupons good on some of your Denny’s diner favorites, redeemable at participating locations. You can also contribute to the campaign with a monetary donation of your choice by visiting the Dennys No Kid Hungry Webpage HERE. By joining forces with Denny’s we can help put an end to childhood hunger.

We have been in situation where we had little. It is important to give back.
Great giveaway and great cause!
I love the food at Dennys, great cause
Oh this is such a wonderful cause to donate to. Carter started kindergarten this fall…and I know the school said that all those in kindergarten are eligible for free breakfast before school. Breakfast is so important for the kids to start there day, and I know there are many who cannot always afford a good breakfast. This is such a wonderful program for the kids!
This is a great campaign. It’s nice to see Denny’s helping out.
I didn’t donate but what a great cause.
I decided to donate because I don’t think any child should ever have to be hungry. We live in a country that is so wasteful and throws away so much food that could be given to those in need that people need to step back and see all these school lunches that get thrown away and all the restaurants throwing away left overs could actually go to the hungry and homeless.
I didn’t donate but I spread the word about it
Great charity event to help kids here in the USA. Every little bit helps our own residents and neighbors.
I did not donate yet but it is a really great cause.
