I am beyond thrilled to share with you that Planes Fire & Rescue movie just released on Blu-rayTM on Digital HD and on Disney Movies Anywhere! If you are an avid reader of this blog, you know by now that we are HUGE Disney movie fans, so the release of Planes Fire & Rescue has the kiddos buzzing. Disney’s Planes Fire & Rescue celebrates our everyday heroes in a story filled with humor and heart. The movie’s central message is that you don’t need to wear a cape to be hero and to celebrate those in your communities that make a difference everyday. This got me thinking about Who do you consider your hero or #MiHeroeFavorito?

Miami Mommy Savings FamilyMy grandmother and her children!

We are surrounded by heroes, folks that make a difference without us knowing or acknowledging that they do. Think about it… Teachers, fire fighters, police officers, nurses and many other members of the community are everyday heroes to many people. Going back to my question… I am blessed to say that I have many heroes in my life, starting with my three kids, my mother and my grandmother. Each of these people have made & left huge mark in my life. Although, my grandmother is no longer with us, she was the kind of person that to this day is still remembered by her community as both a mother figure and as a teacher, a profession she held throughout her adult life. My grandmother taught us loyalty, honesty, and compassion, this was the legacy she left her familia.

Miami-Mommy-SavingsMy Mother!

The other person who is my #MiHeroeFavorito is my mother, she is a lot like her mother. My mother has gone through so many adversities in her life, but these situations only made her the person she is today. My mother always taught us to be optimistic & positive about life & her motto is “there is always a silver lining to every cloud”. As you can see #MiHeroeFavorito is and are mi familia and my hope is to pass down their teachings onto my kids and to someday be a hero to them. I want them to make a difference in their community and for them to be heroes to their own families and friends.

As you can see from the video above, I asked my oldest son to share with me, what makes you a hero? His answer was: “You don’t have to wear a cape to be a hero!” If your kids love Dusty and his friends: click here and download the Planes Fire & Rescue Fire Prevention printable or here to download the Planes Fire & Rescue Butternut Squash Apple Bake recipe and get cooking! 🙂

My grandparents are my heroes. My grandfather passed away but he was a volunteer firefighter, and worked with the k-9 unit even after losing his leg in a work accident. They got through all kinds of thing to show that love is above all.

My hero has always been my dad! He worked so hard while we were growing up, but always found time to spend with us. He was a great supporter as we grew older and started our own families! He has always been my hero!
