Ratchet and Clank, starting Paul Giamatti (Chairman Drek), John Goodman (Grimroth), Bella Thorne (Cora), Rosario Dawson (Elaris), Jim Ward (Captain Owark), James Arnold Taylor (Ratchet), David Kaye (Clank), Armin Shimerman (Doctor Nefarious), and Sylvester Stallone (Victor Von Ion) is in theaters everywhere! My kids and I had the amazing opportunity to attend a pre-screening of the movie a few weeks ago and we certainly loved the movie, more on the movie later in this post. After screening the movie, I had the opportunity to chat with the talented and equally beautiful, Bella Thorne. Today, we are sharing with you both our movie review and what we learned from Ms. Thorne during our exclusive interview.

Ratchet & Clank – Official Trailer

From Rainmaker Entertainment and Blockade Entertainment, “Ratchet & Clank” is a CG-animated movie based on the iconic PlayStation video game. Two unlikely heroes struggle to stop a vile alien named Chairman Drek from destroying every planet in the Solana Galaxy. Ratchet is the last of his kind, a foolhardy “lombax” who has grown up alone on a backwater planet with no family of his own. Clank is a pint-sized robot with more brains than brawn. When the two stumble upon a dangerous weapon capable of destroying entire planets, they must join forces with a team of colorful heroes called The Galactic Rangers in order to save the galaxy. Along the way, they will learn about heroism, friendship, and the importance of discovering one’s own identity.

~Meet the Ratchet and Clank Movie Characters~

Meet Ratchet:

Having crash landed on Veldin as an infant, Ratchet grew up alone and used his well-earned street smarts to keep himself alive. Grimroth, a local ship mechanic, took Ratchet in and employs him in his garage. Ratchet has a tough exterior but also has the heart of a dreamer and feels he is destined for great things in the universe. Ratchet is the only Lombax anyone has every seen. He is a bit of a loner, not wanting to rely on anyone but himself. However, he is extremely loyal to the friends that he has.

Meet Clank:

Born out of a Zoni aided warbot factory malfunction, Clank is the personification of innocent book smart. He is a living computer filled with tons of data that he accesses freely. However, he has only lived in the universe for a short time and retains a lot of the child-like curiosity one would expect from a creature only days old. Clank knows right from wrong and will go to any lengths to ensure justice is served.

Meet Captain Qwark:

Captain Copernicus Leslie Qwark is a legend in his own mind. A hero for all of the wrong reasons (the fame, glory and riches), he is self-serving, stupid and extremely vain. He is a versatile character that has the ability to go very broad with his actions or he can tone down his delivery when analyzing a situation.

Meet Cora:

Strong-willed, intelligent and tomboyish, Cora dreamed of being a Galactic Ranger since she was a little girl. Cora is a no-nonsense person, and has little time for humor or childishness. Although she’s still a teenager, herself, she has a maturity well beyond her years. She’s confident, competitive, and driven, and that, combined with her smarts, could make her come off as cocky. She cares deeply for her teammates, once they’ve earned her respect.

Meet Brax:

The muscle of the Galactic Rangers. Brax may not be the brightest bulb in the box, but he has a big heart and a lovable personality. Brax has seen his share of fighting, and loves to talk about it to anyone who is willing to listen, and even those who aren’t. He’s extremely competitive, and always feels the need to one-up those around him.

Meet Elaris:

Elaris is not only one of the commanders, she is also the brains of the Galactic Rangers. As a team, the Galactic Rangers will have to learn to put their strengths together to defeat the villain.

So, what did we love about the movie Ratchet and Clank? As a mom, I loved the message of the movie. The friendship between Ratchet and Clank shows kids perseverance, compassion, and team’s manship. ~Exclusive Interview with Bella Thorne~

Bella’s character Cora is such a powerhouse in Ratchet and Clank, this got us thinking, how similar is Cora to Bella’s real life personality? Bella quickly responded that both she and Cora are very similar, Bella stated that Cora is full of attitude and she can take care of herself, just like her.

Ratchet, Clark, and the Galactic Rangers used lots and lots of futuristic gadgets, what part of that technology would she love to see use today? Although Bella acknowledges that technology is pretty useful in today’s society, she also stated that it can be used for a lot of evil. So, she would rather have those futuristic gadgets stay within the film.

Speaking of Ratchet, Clark, and the Galactic Rangers, what did Bella like about voicing an animated character? She stated that she really loved the intimate setting of coming in and voicing her character. Although that was an amazing experience, Bella cannot wait to participate in a live-action animation film, because it is not only cool but she can really do a lot more creatively.

Finally, if you are wondering what Bella is up to next. She told us that she has a lot of projects coming up and since Marvel’s movies are so hot. Her dream role would be to play the female version of Deadpool. So, be sure to head to the theater this weekend and check out Ratchet, Clark, Cora, and the rest of the Galactic Rangers in Ratchet & Clark. Plus look out for all her future projects both on TV and on film.
