As parents we face real-life everyday challenges, some are easy to take charge off and some are not, for that and many other reasons, I like to refer to them as learning adventures. Having three kids all under the age of nine is an adventure onto itself and our latest adventure began just this week: our boys are now 4th & 2nd graders respectively. Although school is not a challenge, getting baby girl onto a new routine has proven to be a different story!
My new adventure is getting her used to a new routine: Throughout the summer baby girl was used to playing & been with her brothers, now that the boys are back in school she is having a hard time coming back home by herself. Morning routine: as soon as we drop off the boys in school, baby girl starts crying and not wanting to go home. My strategy is: reassure her that she will see the boys soon and wait until she relaxes, so that we can come back home. Afternoon routine: When the boys come home it is time to get homework done, but baby girl has different plans, according to her when the boys come home, it is time to play! My Strategy: provide her with a distraction until after homework is done. I am aware that this routine will take time to get used to, but I am hoping the within a few weeks she is back to her old self again.
