Rio 2 Movie Review! #Rio2

We have a brand new favorite animated movie around here! A few weeks ago we had the opportunity to see an advanced screening of Rio 2 and we fell-in-love with it, Rio 2 is the sequel to the 2011 hit, Rio! Anyhow, Rio 2 premiered today nationwide and today I am finally able to share with you my Rio 2 Movie Review…

Rio 2 returns with their original cast: Anne Hathaway (Jewel), Jesse Eisenberg (Blu), will.i.am (Pedro), Jemaine Clement (Nigel), Tracy Morgan (Luis), Leslie Mann (Linda), George Lopez (Rafael), Rodrigo Santoro (Tulio) and Jamie Foxx (Nico); but this time they are joined by a new set of colorful characters: Andy Garcia (Eduardo), Rita Moreno (Mimi), Kristin Chenoweth (Gaby), and Bruno Mars (Roberto). As in the first movie, Rio 2 is set in the beautiful country of Brazil. In Rio 2 Blu, Jewel, their 3 children & friends will embark in a new adventure that will take them deep into the Amazon, this is were we will meet all the new characters in the movie including Jewel’s long lost father.

Rio 2 is an spectacular, colorful & full of rhythmic songs from the delectable Samba beats perfect for both parents and kiddos. The music is amazing & the animation scenes pop with vibrant and lively colors. Although, the musical beats are a big part of the movie, the main message in Rio 2 is to find your roots & of course, the environment.

All three of our kids loved the movie, they said that it had what they liked: music & comedy. Both my husband & I, liked that it helped us introduce some of the rhythms beats that we grew up with, besides that, the environmental message was perfect to get the conversation started. Although, I am an avid recycler, sometimes it is hard to get their attention but this movie helped them understand why we recycle all our plastic bottles, glass & cartons. I hope you guys have a chance to take your little ones and enjoy this movie as much as we did. Official Synopsis:

The entire cast of the animated smash RIO returns in RIO 2, and they are joined by a new flock of top actors and musical talents. Rich with grandeur, character, color and music, RIO 2 finds Jewel (Anne Hathaway), Blu (Jesse Eisenberg) and their three kids leaving their domesticated life in that magical city for a journey to the Amazon. They encounter a menagerie of characters who are born to be wild, voiced by Oscar nominee Andy Garcia, Oscar/Emmy/Tony-winner Rita Moreno, Grammy winner Bruno Mars, and Tony winner Kristin Chenoweth.
