This past weekend SeaWorld Orlando kicked off their annual Halloween Spooktacular and my family and I had the pleasure of being invited by SeaWorld Orlando to experienced it for ourselves. Seaworld Orlando Spooktacular will happen every weekend in October, during this period your family can enjoy an underwater “fantasea” and I am not kidding when I tell you that it feels like a fantasea. The colors are lively and vibrant, beside that your kids will have a blast with all the princesses, fairies, sharks, squids, jellies, fishes, witches (good witches) and heroes that are available in each nook and grannie. Young and old will have FUN trick-or-treating on the different stations, dancing with sea fairies and pumpkin fish and if your kids are into crafting Penelope’s Party zone is packed with games, dancing and sea-themed arts & crafts. First stop was at the map zone, where we picked up a map and a trick-or-treat bag. As you can imagine the boys wanted to head to the individual trick-or-treat zones. Check out some of the things we saw…
- Waves of Trick-or-Treat Fun:
Offering more than two million pieces of sweet treats, costumed youngsters can trick-or-treat “under the sea.” Each trick-or-treat station features an assortment of ghoulish goodies including Tootsie Roll, Jelly Belly jelly beans, Airheads and other candy favorites.
On our way to Penelope’s party Zone we saw a beautiful American eagle! Penelope’s party zone is happening, it is super cool for both the kids and the adults. The enjoyed playing video games and assembling a customized pumpkin out of foam stickers.
- Penelope’s Party Zone:
Located at SeaWorld’s Bayside area, this dynamic underwater environment comes to life each day with a live DJ, a variety of interactive crafts to choose from, countless bubbles floating overhead and colorful pumpkin fish gliding around!
It is not Halloween if you don’t get to decorate a sweet Halloween cookie and that is just what the kiddos got to do! We headed to the cookie decorating station and they each got an individual cookie with separate container with frosting, sprinkles, candy corn and chocolate M&Ms, they had a blast decorating their Halloween cookies. - Sweet Treat Decorating:
Kids and parents alike can have a “splash” creating their own sweet treats at the cookie decorating station. Kids will be able to decorate and devour their spooky cookie when they purchase a kit that comes equipped with a cookie, frosting and toppings.
Throughout the day we saw many colorful characters from princesses, fishes, witches, heroes and lots more!
We had a whale of a time at Seaworld’s Halloween Spooktacular but the day couldn’t end any better. We headed to the Spooktacular Dance Party zone, don’t worry the party happens at the front of the park so you won’t missed it! We had a great time dancing to hip and popular tunes. As you can see from the image above all the Spooktacular characters come out and dance with the park’s guests.
- Spooktacular Dance Party (NEW this year):
Princess Penelope and her undersea friends invite guests to join the Spooktacular Dance Party, where children can dance along to a Spooktacular mix of line-dancing favorites as clouds of bubbles fill the evening air. The party will kick off at the front of the park every event night an hour before SeaWorld’s park closing time.

- Jelly Belly® Bean Art to Come to Life at Spooktacular:
Jelly Belly artist in residence, Kristen Cumings, will use more than 10,000 Jelly Belly jelly beans to create a portrait of rockhopper penguins, reflecting SeaWorld’s all-new, Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin. Guests can watch as this handmade jelly bean creation comes together in front of their eyes during the final weekend of Halloween Spooktacular, Oct. 26 and 27. Kids can join in the fun too, with the opportunity to decorate a Halloween Spooktacular mural with a variety of Jelly Belly jelly beans.
SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular will take place on the following weekends in October: 5-6, 12-13, 19-20 and 26-27, from 12 to 8 p.m. Halloween Spooktacular is included with park admission. For more information visit Sea World Orlando Website here.
