Moms everywhere can relate to this… There aren’t enough hours in the day to accomplish everything we need to do and it seems that we are always on-the-go! Well, my family is not the exception to that rule, if we are not hauling kids to the park or to soccer practices & games, we are running errands or doing chores. It’s on the go, go, go time all the time! Since, I know that I am not the only mommy in the world going through these parenthood dilemmas alone. I decided to compile a few shortcuts and time savings tips to help you and I keep up with our on-the-go families.

#ThisIsWholesome
Between work deadlines, family obligations, kid’s extra curricular activities, kid’s homework, household work, and birthday parties who has the time for anything else? I sure don’t, so let’s begin with our shortcuts and time saving tips…
- First things first, schedule all your upcoming events! For a few months now, I have been taking advantage of my phone’s calendar feature. I add everything to the calendar, whether it is doctor’s appointments, school events, or upcoming family vacations. Having all of our upcoming events handy allows me to plan more strategically when something new comes along.
- Do I have the time to prepare a home cooked meal every night & keep up with my on-the-go family? The answer is in the question, we all have the ability to serve a warm home cooked meal every night. With a bit of preparation and meal planning, you and I can prepare home cooked meals without slaving over the top stove all day long. Think about all the easy meal that you can make in a jiff: tacos, hamburgers, spaghetti, or pizza. These meals can be easily prepared and that’s gives you more time when you are trying to get out of the house to make it to your kid’s next after school activities.
- Do I have the time to keep my house looking spotless, so that I can keep up with my on-the-go family? The answer here is, depends on how much the entire family pitches-in to keep everything organized and in its place. A time saving tip when it comes to laundry, get the kids involved. Have them presort their laundry before laundry day and make doing laundry a little less time consuming. Another time consuming task is keeping up with bills. Create a dedicated place for keeping all bills in one place and have them ready for bill-pay-day or go paperless & schedule payments as you get bill notices. Finally, ask the kids to spot clean after they finish taking a shower, ask them to empty out the garbage, to clean the sink & the counters and ask them to put away all their toys. If everyone pitches in with household chores, everything will get done faster and you & your family will have more time to spend together having fun.
- We covered our schedules, meal preparation & household chores, let’s prepare for when we are out and about. One thing I have learned since my kids were little is that in order to have a productive day when we are on the go is to keep snacks handy. Snack such as Honey Maid GoBites, more on them below. Before we head out, we have a quick checklist of steps we follow, such as, feed the kids, make them go potty and check that our diaper bag to assure it has plenty of drinks and portable snacks, just in case the kids get hungry before we come back home. This works really well, whether we are having fun or we are running between their activities and it saves mommy & daddy from having to buy pricey snacks. 😉
Honey Maid GoBites are filled crackers with crispy pockets of delicious fillings delivering protein and whole grains. With five grams of protein and seven grams of whole grains in every 30 gram serving, it’s a snack they’ll love and you’ll feel good about. Honey Maid GoBites come in chocolate or vanilla flavors.
What is your best Shortcut and time saving tip to keep up with your on-the-go family?
