Spring break came and went and although, I am the type of mommy who loves to have her children home all the time; I am pretty happy to have a little break, my little domain back and most of all, my daily routine. After this past week, I honestly have to say that whomever said that keeping up with household work while having the kids home was easy, was a little delusional! Not only did I have to battle dust bunnies, but I also had to deal with crumbs and icky surfaces while keeping them entertained. Anyways, now that the kids are back in school, it is time to take back those spaces that have been invaded by stuff by diving directly into Spring cleaning.

In preparation for Easter Sunday, I began to take back some of my favorite places in our home. Let’s face it, getting organized is not easy! So, this year, my mission is to take it one day at a time or even a weekend at a time to avoid getting overwhelmed. And although many of us would begin their Spring cleaning by emptying that over-stuffed closet or the disorganized garage or even the kids bedrooms, I always start by organizing the common areas. It makes me feel like I am getting somewhere as I walked through the house. From the pic above, you might be thinking that my kids’ messes are not that bad, but trust me, they are! Mommy’s tips and tricks will get our house into tip top shape after we are done with our Spring cleaning.

Without further ado, here are three tips and tricks for getting your Spring cleaning done in a jiffy:

  1.  As I said above, my number one tip is to avoid getting overwhelmed! Start small and tackle one area at a time. Handy trick, start by cleaning all the common areas, such as the dining room and living room. I use Pledge® Multi Surface Antibacterial Everyday Cleaner because it helps me get the job done fast.
  2. My second tip is to get the family involved. Yes, everyone has to lend a hand, not only to clean but to maintaining the house cleaned and organized. Another handy trick, make it fun, use storage bins and let the kids decorate them and label them.
  3. Out with the old, in with the less stuff. Get rid of the “extras”, empty boxes and extra toys. All unwanted items should be sorted, then discarded or donated. My final trick is to make Spring cleaning a teachable moment. Not only it is your house would look good, but you get to bless others by donating all those extras you really don’t use.

Yes, you read that correctly, Pledge® Multi Surface Antibacterial Everyday Cleaner kills 99.9% of germs, including the flu virus. Plus, its multi surface formula not only kills germs but it dusts and leaves no smeary residue. And if you’re like me and like a classic fresh lemon scent, try Pledge® Lemon Clean Furniture Spray, which can be used for furniture cleaning all around the house, plus it removes 90% of allergens found in dust.

I really love your get the family involved idea, I love getting the kids involved with cleaning because it goes by faster. It also ends up becoming more fun and makes it all seem less like a chore.
