If you were to visit my parent’s house or my sister’s house or my house right now, there would be a few things that you would find at all three houses and I am not talking about furniture or style decor. Oh, no! Let me walk you through two examples that come to mind. The first thing you will find as you enter any of our three houses is the feeling of Frescura y Pureza, more on that later. The second thing you would find are fruits, fruits, and more fruits. Yes, we are a fruit family, I think it is kind of a tradition. When my sister and I were younger, my mom would buy us all kinds of fruits to eat and enjoy anytime we would get hungry or just wanted a snack. Fast forward to today and that’s exactly what my sister and I do for our own families. My husband, the kids and I, love to go to the farmers market and pick seasonal fruits to enjoy at home. One of our favorite ways to enjoy these fruits is by making smoothies. Yum! Today I want to share with you one of our favorite smoothie recipes, check it out below. #SienteGlade #CollectiveBias
Strawberry Banana Smoothie
To make our easy Strawberry Banana Smoothie recipe all you need are the following ingredients: 2 bananas, 1 cup of freshly squeezed orange juice, 2 cups of strawberries, 2 cups of frozen berries (mixed), and 2 teaspoons of honey. If you are thinking “I have all those ingredients!” Well, I said it was easy.
Continuing with this easy Strawberry Banana smoothie recipe. Peel your bananas cut them, and set aside. Peel your orange, cut it in half, and squeeze 1 cup of orange juice. Wash your strawberries, remove green leave and slice them in half.
Next, place your bananas, strawberries, orange juice, frozen mixed berries, and honey into a blender and blend until smooth. If need be, adjust sweetness by adding more honey. If you want you can also add some ice to make a thicker smoothie. We don’t add ice since our mixed berries are already frozen.
Lastly, pour your smoothie into serving glasses and enjoy! That was easy, right? But the best part is that your family can enjoy this low-fat, low-calorie, easy-to-make, nutritious, delicious and refreshing treat for breakfast, lunch, snack, or even dinner. Which in my opinion, is a huge plus for us mommies.
Now going back to the beginning, I said before if you were to visit our homes you would feel a feeling of Frescura y Pureza. If you have been reading this blog for a while, you have previously read about two amazing ladies in my life that have and continue to make a difference in my life every day. I am talking about my Abuelita (grandmother) and my mom. Although my grandmother is no longer with us, she still influences our family on a daily basis. Her life wasn’t filled with luxuries, but her heart was a true gem. She loved to host family and friends at her house and she made sure everyone was always welcomed with amazing scents that emanated from her small kitchen that filled her entire house. So, as I said before, we love to continue with those traditions that evoke amazing feelings… and scents do just that.
One way we accomplish that special welcoming feeling is by making smoothies because they fill our senses and taste buds with fresh and pure feelings. Another way is by using Glade® products. You may already use Glade® as well and are familiar with their huge variety of products. However, I just recently discovered Glade® Wax Melts. The Glade® Wax Melts are little wax cubes that are very easy to use. All you need to do is plug in the Wax Melts Warmer, place one cube on the tray, and your home will be filled with a truly pleasant fragrance for up to 16 hours. Isn’t that just neat? I think so too! And, if that wasn’t neat enough, you can grab a money saving coupon for them right here. How do you evoke those feelings of Frescura y Pureza in your home?
