Valentine’s day is just a few days away, are you ready for it? Well, for us parents with little ones, Valentine’s day seems to take on a different meaning. Some of us go all out, we arrange baby sitting and make reservations at our favorite restaurant. For others, the idea of celebrating Valentine’s day outside our homes is a daunting idea and we decide to celebrate with our kids at home. However, just because we have little ones, it doesn’t mean that we have to give up on a romantic night with that special person in our lives. Having an amazing Valentine’s day night with your significant other takes a bit of planning and commitment, this is why today, I will am going to share with you a few ideas to make your Valentine’s day/night a special one!
Valentine’s Day Ideas for Couples with Young Kids!
- First things first, let’s plan ahead. Ask your significant other how they would like to spent the time with you on this night. My suggestion for any busy family is to make this a special night by having a fancy dinner at home together as a family, spending time with your kids can also be fun and it will give your family a chance to create everlasting memories. You can even set up your dinning room table, decorate with Valentine’s day favors and why not, even dress up as if were going out for a night on the town.
- Secondly, after dinner is over, it’s time to enjoy dessert. After all, desserts are synonymous with Valentine’s day, specially chocolate. However, before dinner commences, get the kids involved and prepare a special dessert the entire family can enjoy. Make cake pops & a chocolate dipping sauce, or chocolate fudge brownies topped with a special ice cream.
- If you still looking forward to eating out, my third suggestion can get that resolved. Why eat in, when you can eat out? Take your special dinner outdoors, head over to the beach and have a picnic dinner as a family. This will be both special for you and him, but the kids will have a special memory of that time you took them to watch the sunset on Valentine’s day.
- Finally, after all that Valentine’s day celebration as a family, it is time to make it special just for you and him. Wait until the kids have gone to bed and make it a movie night. Watch a movie from the comfort of your own bed. Set the mood, light up some of your favorite scent candles and prepare your favorite beverage. This is your time and all you need to do here is relax and enjoy each other’s company.
