If you are wondering what’s new from Walt Disney World this year? You have come to the right place. Last year, when I visited Walt Disney World, I was able to experience many of the new attractions at Disney’s the Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and the Magic Kingdom. Although 2016 brought many amazing additions to these parks, that was so last year! 🙂 Which might get you wondering, what’s new in 2017? Well, my family and I were lucky enough to be able to experience some of the new additions at Disney’s the Animal Kingdom and the Magic Kingdom this year. So, here we go!
So, 2016 brought the addition of Seven Dwarfs Mine Train ride, which is still extremely popular in 2017 and a ride that you must do while visiting the Magic Kingdom. While you are at it, you should definitely ride many of the classic and some of my very own favorites like Dumbo The Flying Elephant, It’s a Small World, Jungle Cruise, Mad Tea Party, The Magic Carpet of Aladdin, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Mickey’s PhilharMagic, Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor, Peter Pan’s Flight, A Pirate’s Adventure – Treasures of the Seven Seas, Pirates of the Caribbean, Swiss Family Treehouse, Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress, Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room and Tomorrowland Speedway, which is, rumor to be closing soon.
What’s New from Walt Disney World This Year?
So, what’s new at the Magic Kingdom in 2017? Well, this year Walt Disney went all out by adding a new nighttime spectacular show. The Happily Ever After Nighttime Spectacular literary lights up the night sky above Cinderella Castle. The new show combines the magic of Disney’s storytelling, fireworks, lights, and Disney’s beloved classic Disney characters in a show that will inspire guests to find their own “Happily Ever After”. So, be sure to stay until the end and look up!
But that’s not all Walt Disney has done to their parks. Disney’s Animal Kingdom underwent an amazing addition. Yes, I am not exaggerating when I say this. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Avatar – The World of Pandora is one of the best additions yet to come from Walt Disney World and my family and I had the amazing opportunity to suck it all in.
So, what’s Pandora – The World of Avatar? Pandora – The World of Avatar, inspired by James Cameron’s 2009 movie is the latest land within Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Here you will be transported into the wonders of Pandora, home of the Na’vi. This land is filled with unforgettable bioluminescent forest and impressive floating mountains. Pandora- The World of Avatar features two main attractions, dining, and shopping.
Let’s explore Pandora – The World of Avatar two main attractions. On the Na’vi River Journey (see video above), you will glide down a sacred river hidden within a bioluminescent rainforest inside the Valley of Mo’ara.
The other attraction and my personal favorite is Avatar Flight of Passage. Here, you will be soaring over Pandora on a flying Banshee. But before you get to fly on a Banshee, you will get to fully immerse yourself into the world of Avatar. So, stay alert to the many possibilities here and be sure to experience Avatar – The World of Avatar at night. Where the park truly comes to life.
Speaking of the park coming to life. Another addition to Disney’s Animal Kingdom is Rivers of Light. Get swept away into Animal Kingdom’s first nighttime show. This nightly show celebrates the beauty of all living things and successfully combines water, sound, dramatic lighting and special effects. It is just thrilling!
