We were invited to see “Wreck-It Ralph”, the newest film by Disney, in 3D last Tuesday Evening. Both of my boys were very quiet during the movie, which is rare. If you remember the video games from the 80’s with nostalgia and love the current video games available today, Wreck-It Ralph is the movie for you. Wreck-It Ralph shows us what happens when the video arcade closes and the video game characters come out to play with others video game characters. Characters from different video games get to interact with one another and even enter each other video games through Game Central Station, which is a power strip.
The main character in the movie is Ralph (voice by John C. Reilly), he is the villain in the vintage video game Fix-It Felix Jr., Ralph just want to fit in with the rest of the game’s character specially with the game’s hero Felix Jr. (voice by Jack McBrayer). In his search for acceptance Ralph leaves his games and enter Hero’s Duty where he meets Sergeant Calhoun (voice by Jane Lynch). Hero’s Duty is a modern game with high definition characters. While perusing his redemption ticket, Ralph crashes on the candy-coated cart racing game, Sugar Rush. In Sugar Rush Ralph meets Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman). Ralph and Vanellope are joined by a mutual desired to be accepted in their own video game world. But everything changes when a deadly enemy is unleashed, threatening the entire arcade and Vanellope herself. Ralph finally gets his chance to save the day.
The movies has a great message and it is worth watching it with the entire family. The movie is fun and engaging both for kids and adults.We give it four out of five stars.
