Have you been to LEGOLAND Florida Resort lately? If you haven’t, I think it is time to go back! And why? Well, simply because now you can Become The Ninja you always wanted to be with their newest addition of the LEGO® NINJAGO® [NIN-JAH-GO] adventure. This new magical martial arts kingdom will immerse you in the world of LEGO® NINJAGO® through several hands-on outdoor activities and before the ultimate showdown on the LEGO NINJAGO The Ride experience. My family and I were invited to experience this amazing and dazzling new attraction that blends 3D computer animation, “4D” special effects such as heat, fog, and strobe lighting. Sounds amazing? Well, it is that and more! And today I am going to tell you all about it.
Inspired by the popular LEGO building sets and the “LEGO NINJAGO: Masters of Spinjitzu” TV show, LEGO NINJAGO World puts YOU at the center of the action. So, let’s get started…
Now open – Ninjago World LEGOLAND Florida! The 150-acre theme park in Winter Haven (just outside of Orlando) has expanded further with a new attraction and area called Ninjago World, inspired by the popular martial arts LEGO building sets and the “LEGO NINJAGO: Masters of Spinjitzu” television show. The new magical world includes play areas, games, character spots and a groundbreaking interactive 4D ride that allows kids to become the ninja.
As soon as you set foot at LEGO® NINJAGO® kingdom, you are greeted by LEGO models of LEGO NINJAGO heroes: Kai, Jay, Cole, Zane, Lloyd, Nya [NEE-AH] and Master Wu. Throughout the new kingdom, you and your kids will have fun in lots of ways. For starters and while you are outside, kids 2-12, can enjoy Kai’s spinners, Cole’s Rock climb, Jay’s Lighting drill, meeting Kai and Nya. Once they have enjoyed the fun outside, it is time to head indoors (more on that below). Let’s learn more about these outside adventures.
Kai’s Spinners
Master the ancient art of Spinjitzu at these twirling, whirling, single-child platforms; recommended for ages 5-12.
Cole’s Rock Climb
A horizontal, right-to-left climbing wall to test kids’ strength and endurance; recommended for ages 2-12.
As I mentioned above, you and your brew will have the opportunity to meet sibling ninjas, Kai and Nya during their daily meet-and-greet sessions. As you can see, we got to meet Kai. Did anyone say, star-struck-much? 🙂
Jay’s Lightning Drill
Practice precision and reflexes by pressing as many light-up targets as possible in 30-second sessions; recommended for ages 2-12.
LEGO NINJAGO The Ride
Although it is fun outside, we couldn’t wait to ride the Lego Ninjago The Ride. This state-of-the-art “dark ride” where you score points using ninja hand moves to blast animated fireballs, lightning and more at waves of 3D villains. Something to note here is that children under 48 inches tall must ride with a person 48 inches or taller who can ensure their safety.
Zane’s Temple Build
Speaking of fun, the fun doesn’t end while you wait to ride Lego Ninjago The ride. Oh, NO! One thing different about Lego Ninjago The Ride is that while you wait, you are not outside. You actually get to wait inside Zane’s Temple building. You read that right. You get to wait in an air conditioned (AC) building, which is a HUGE necessity in Florida. At Zane’s Temple build, kids can contribute to a giant model of the mountaintop NINJAGO monastery with bins of loose LEGO bricks. It is so much fun! So, now it is time to enjoy this amazing 4D ride…
Master LEGO® NINJAGO® The Ride With These Signature Ninja Hand Moves!
LEGO® NINJAGO® The Ride, it pretty straight forward. Each cart holds up to four riders or “ninjas.” These carts move on a track that spins to reveal different screens (check out the photos below). This game doesn’t use shooters of any kind. So, to score points, you get to use your ninja skills. Here are the five signature ninja hand moves you and your kids can use to defeat the villains and capture a high score on LEGO NINJAGO The Ride:
- The Cobra: Hold your fingers like a snake’s head, then strike your arm forward.
- Chops of Fury: Hold both hands in front of you, palms facing, and do quick karate chops.
- The Fireball Flinger: Clench your hand into a fist, then thrust your arm forward while opening your fingers.
- The Lightning Strike: Hold your arm at a slant and chop.
- The Shuriken [SHUR-IH-KEN] Shuffle: Hold both hands in front of you, palms down, with your arms bent so they touch your chest. Chop outwards repeatedly.
My family and I had a blast visiting LEGOLAND Florida Resort and the LEGO® NINJAGO® Kingdom, we cannot wait to go back and beat each other’s scores at The Ride. 🙂 Heading to LEGOLAND Florida soon?
